  1. I guess I am not a follower of the Astros' farm system but was Pence as highly regarded as Braun was for the Brewers' system? I never heard of him before this year and when he first came up a bunch of people were talking about how touted he was. Did I miss the boat on him?
  2. Don't the rest of the owners have to ok the sale? I believe that this is the case which is why I don't believe that Cuban will become an owner of an MLB team. The way he berates the refs in the NBA will hurt his case along with the fact that there will be no shortage of groups lining up to buy the Cubs. I also don't believe that if he were to become owner, come in and start spending huge dollars that it would be good for the Brewers. Between the Cubs and the 'Stros, maybe St. Louis, the NL Central would start to resemble the AL East with a couple of teams spending heads and shoulders above the others. Granted, the Brewers have much more competent management than certain AL East bottom feeders but still. I look at it this way, if I am a Cubs fan, I love the idea of Cuban becoming the Cubs' owner. As a Brewer fan, I shutter at the thought.
  3. I don't think Turnbow gets a 3 year deal pre-Attanasio. I also, somewhat question whether Counsell gets 2 years and $6 million. I know that they wanted playoff experience but Counsell's dollars seem a little steep for experience. Same thing for Suppan
  4. It looks like ESPN has picked up a game against Atlanta in September. The Mon. August 20th game against Arizona is also a possibility. I really think that any Saturday game stands a chance of being picked up if the Crew maintains any sort of 1st place lead.
  5. I believe the Bourne Ultimatum is coming out in August. Since I thoroughly enjoyed the Identity and Supremacy, I am very much looking forward to the final of the trilogy. Hopefully, it won't be too much of a letdown.
  6. Two more...Red Dawn and Cannonball Run. I can't believe someone put Cannonball Run on the list. I am not as big a fan of I as I am of Cannonball Run 2. There is just something about Dean Martin saying that when he makes a dry martini he really makes a dry martini and proceeding to hand a woman an empty glass that gets me everytime. I'd also like to add to the list all of the teen movies from the 1990's and Summer Catch as it introduced me to Jessica Biel. And for other not so great movies, put me down for The Manhattan Project and My Science Project.
  7. i've never been so happy to see ann carol after the day off I still refuse to watch the pre and postgame shows. I always listen to the Jim & Bob pregame and Jim's postgame...with Brian and Bill sandwiched in between. I have been close to muting the tv during the game but ever so slightly, Brian is starting to grow on me.
  8. Yeah, I'd like to know if/when Hart will start again
  9. Oh that is so big time I can't even describe it
  10. Anyone hoping for a rainout tomorrow? EDIT PRINCE
  11. What's the record for most pages for a thread on BF.net? I was just going to ask this very question
  12. I did enjoy Dwight putting the stripper to work when the bachelor party went downhill. Nice to see an episode with Andy taking the day off.
  13. I don't know...I think Andy has been beyond annoying since day 1 when Jim put his calculator in Jell-o (which was an awesome prank by the way) and he flipped out. The one thing that really bugs me about Andy is that his character caused Dwight from being the hated person on the show to Andy being the hated person. Dwight is borderline likable now. I am still curious if Angela is going to get any payback for Andy getting Dwight to quit and move to Staples.
  14. Just so I am clear, it was posted awhile back that we should not sign up for EZ Supporter because the thought was that the forum would be moving. Now we are sticking with the current setup correct? I would have signed up for EZ Supporter back then but held off. So now you are saying that it would be great if everyone signed up for EZ Supporter? I will be happy to sign up but I just want to make doubl-y sure that is what you want those of us who haven't done so to do. I didn't realize all of the costs involved with making this site work. I am really glad that Brian has been so open with that so we can all rest assured as to what any donations would be going towards.
  15. I don't believe that Michael cares much for Andy and this will come out once Michael finds out why Dwight was late. For the first time in a long time, Michael showed some competence on the sales call only to have Andy ruin it all(although I am thinking that was deliberate but for some reason I am just not sure). I don't think Michael thinks too highly of Andy regardless of the reason. But it won't matter since Andy is about to feel the full wrath of Angela. Also, I loved Jim and Dwight's sales call. From Jim slapping Dwight to Dwight using the phone for no explicible reason at first to Jim hanging up on the girl in customer service...brilliant. But all of the sales call scenes were brilliant in how they were set up.
  16. "There are reasons why [suppan] would come, and I'll just leave it at that," Melvin said. The reason being that Attanasio doesn't like continually being outspent for other players and has given the green light to overpay.
  17. From a purely business standpoint, any team should want Bonds. He is probably good for an extra 1 million in attendance. Even though the majority may be there to boo, they are paying for the tickets, parking, buying up concessions. The additional attendance will more than offset his salary. So, I am looking for a low attendance team that has room to pack in the extra fans to pick up Bonds. That is why I think Oakland or Tampa Bay may be the destination. But in all reality, SF will end up ponying up whatever Bonds wants when they realize that their attendance and associated bottom line drop significantly with his departure. I vote Giants as the team that picks him up.
  18. Yes, Ueck has definitely made friends with Jack Daniels today. This is amusing but somewhat distracting as well. I guess I can handle it. Helps make the day at the office go by quicker.
  19. Does Corey Hart resemble your typical leadoff man?
  20. Good to see a couple of early hits here
  21. I'm sensing some damage done by the Brewers second time through the lineup
  22. All I know is that Turnbow is starting to remind me of Dan Kolb as of the second half of 2004. Good thing we have him signed up through 2007 and 2008
  23. It is pretty quiet in here this afternoon
  24. Maybe if he figured out how to locate a second pitch he could get someone out. I don't think he's thrown a breaking ball for a strike since last week early in Chicago. Indeed. All of this booing is painful to hear. And I also agree that his career may bear a stark resemblence to that of Dan Kolb's if he doesn't get his slider figured out and soon.
