  1. As I have gotten older my fear of spiders has lessened greatly. However, I am still very afraid of snakes, and these pictures scare the crapola out of me.
  2. Can't believe that no one has posted this yet. You're with me, leather
  3. Edit: I am not dropping the ball (illegal). I am letting it drop (i.e. not touching it at all before it hits the ground). That is a huge difference. There is the risk of a funny sideways hop where we don't get any outs. I just think that is what makes the play bush, you are willing to risk a for sure out to show people up.
  4. I promise this is my last one. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/19d25319958c843a6ca1dcfd5eba1f66eb80f04.jpg

  6. 10 AB's will "tell" you that the hitter has struggled against said pitcher, that is a reliable assumption. However it does not allow you to predict future success, just not a big enough sample size. I think you can say, Fielder has struggled against X, but you cannot say something like X will always dominate Fielder because Fielder is 0-10.
  7. Found this note today while doing some fantasy homework. L.A. has an OPS almost .200 points lower versus righties.
  8. Thanks for coming on in Owen. I think you will find this website to be full of very passionate Brewer and Wisconsin sports fans who enjoy coming here to have informed and intelligent conversations. The people who post on this board tend to be very involved and passionate due to the quality of the website. The mods do a great job of keeping the threads from turning into individual mud fights, we have very active and informative posters and I think everyone who posts here really enjoys the online community that Brewerfan provides. This explains why people tend to get upset when Brewerfan gets made fun of. If you would have said something about the posters in the ESPN.com forums I pretty sure you would not have heard a peep. Anyways, welcome aboard and I personally hope that you become a frequent poster. The more people who want intelligent baseball conversation the merrier.
  9. I have a few thoughts that come to mind about this. The NBA age minimum rule is and always has been dumb. Kids like Mayo should go to the pros, even though I question Mayo's game (I was never wowed by the kid) he never should have been in college. We would never have to worry about his "amateur status" if he would have gone to the pros instead of his one year with USC. What is the rule intended to do? Improve the college game, why should the NBA care if USC, UCLA or Kansas State has a good team. Bring more mature people into the NBA? I would argue that age has very little to do with maturity. It just makes even more of a mockery of college basketball when a guy plays for a year and leaves. On to USC. They must have known at some level (coaches at the least) that some shady things were going down. This is a tough situation that many colleges all over the country face. But coaches do not want to call anyone out for risk of losing their jobs, same goes for AD's and staff. Should Floyd come out and say that Mayo should be kicked off for receiving illegal gifts and then get fired a month later when his team goes 12-16? That is a tough thing to ask of somebody. One more thought about USC. Lets say that USC had no idea that this was going on. They will get punished for things they did not do, and for a kid who went to school for like 6 months. Ouch.
  10. They actually get 5 cups before it? falls over.
  11. Despite our offensive struggles, at least we are not the San Diego Padres. They might score six runs the rest of the year. Padre's Woes
  12. Yeah, 1984, backwoods of Louisiana. Different place, different time.
  13. Oswalt has not been the same guy this year, maybe he needs to get electrocuted by his truck again.
  14. I really do not think the Madison Police Department cares what the "National News" perspective of all this is. People like Nancy Grace just take advantage of horrible situations (murders, rapes, child abuse) to become famous. Living here the last 6 years I have come to respect the Madison Police Department greatly. This weekend's Mifflin Street block party is an example of how good they really are. They cannot be to blame for a crackhead breaking into a house and killing someone.
  15. Article on espn.com about Cameron's return. Cameron's Lonely Road Back
  16. I guess I will echo what Jwill said, in terms of zombie bashing bats, you should pay for quality. Zombies tend to roll in packs so you should really be prepared to take out a few of them at a time. You cannot do that when your hands sting. (Unless you are wearing zombie batting gloves)
  17. Since zombies do not have brains I do not think they would want to bite another zombie. What would one zombie gain from biting another zombie? To answer the question, the Corey Hart bat, he kills zombies at night.
  18. Can I borrow some money? Congrats.
  19. The wheels may be falling off here. We need to keep it at 2. Bloop and a blast and we are tied.
  20. It looks like they have been swinging out of their shoes this inning. Trying to go ahead with one swing.
  21. Memo to Dave Bush: Get ahead of Jenkins, then breaking stuff down and in.
  22. Just go up to someone at the shop you need and tell them ya need a bag of grass. Just make sure they are not a cop.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
