  1. Tony Bennett would be a big score but I dont think a Madison grad can have anything to do with Marquette unless its bashing. Its just an unwritten law which I will never understand. I am a Madison graduate, I do not bash Marquette, I hope they do well every year. Now, if you had your facts straight you could say something like "I don't think a UWGB grad can have anything to do with Marquette, unless it is bashing".
  2. "I will tip my cap and call the Yankees my daddy" The Mets are still pretty good, but that division is loaded with the Phils and the Braves, in the end the division (as most races do) will come down to SP health.
  3. IU is one of the huge programs in the country even with all of the problems, Crean will be a superstar if he succeeds there. Whatever you think about Crean, or MU, his team was playing second fiddle to Wisconsin in this state. Now he goes to a place where the whole state and country will have their eyes on him.
  4. It is long, but it is a great story. People who could not make it through the end would think it was true. Plimpton was a great writer.
  5. Being from Columbus I know of someone who may be interested. I sent you a PM.
  6. The Curious Case of Sidd Finch One of the all time great April Fool's jokes.
  7. My productivity at work would have increased.
  8. the rain gods are screwing me today Maybe you should go outside and perform a ceremonious dance to appease them. Or sacrifice....
  9. If this game does get rained out, we will have a 20+ page thread for a rain-out game. I love this site and everyone on it.
  10. I was speaking more to the ball slowing down, I do not think Ramirez had a play. Hart with some WTP.
  11. Despite what Bill thought, the last pitch was a strike.
  12. Wet grass really helped on Tony's single.
  13. Ernie Bank's most famous quote, "It's a beautiful day for a ballgame... Let's play two!" Also, it is kind of ironic that the guy who has the most games played without a post season appearance, has it rain on him when they are honoring him. It rained on him his whole career.
  14. Flowers is the most important player tonight, and he may only score in the single digits. The one thing I really worry about is if they come out and make a few long threes right away and we have to extend our defense. I think one of our best strengths under Bo Ryan is how well we protect the basket and pack it in inside the three point line. That goes away if Curry comes out and buries a few 35 footers. Our defense is then forced to come out and it leaves some room in the paint area for easier opportunities. On the offensive side I think we will be alright, we have guys who can score in so many different ways that we should be able to score enough.
  15. They need to keep Bogut and he has shown some interest in staying. Now they need to get rid of the rest of the team. There was no lower point in the season then a few nights ago when the Bucks were beaten by a CBA team, I mean the Heat. Bucks-Heat
  16. Braveheart, when Wallace sees his wife walking through the crowd as they are about to chop off his head.
  17. JJ, you are probably right, and I think sometimes when a guy is out there with some perceived "character" issues, the people bringing him in (and fans for that matter, myself included) think that he will change. So my lofty expectations of him are partly to blame.
  18. http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/ A calculator to figure out your rebate.
  19. One idea I have always thought about was Lucas could have done the prequels backwards. My idea for each movie. III- Anakin fights in the Clone Wars, has the babies, becomes Darth Vader.(We all knew it was going to happen anyways, get it out of the way.) II- Clone Wars, Anakin fights in the Clone Wars, we find out how the Clone Wars started, we learn that Anakin is carrying around tons of hatred and fear because of the death of his mother, which the details are intentionally kept secret from us. We do not find out how she died. Anakin relentlessly hunts the Sith with the help of Palpatine. We do not know why he is so crazy about hunting them. I- Anakin as a teen, Obi and Qui-Gon find him. So we need a huge revelation or shocking twist for the final episode, here is one, Palpatine had Anakin's mother killed by a Sith, or Palpatine killed her himself. That is why he is so crazy about hunting the Sith.
  20. "He has painted himself into the picture, a little bit." I do not get this, either he is in the picture or not. How can he be in the picture a little bit? Is it just his lower half? Maybe Ned misspoke due to not having his 8th cup of coffee by noon.
  21. I do not think anyone, especially Melvin, could have projected Estrada being a huge turd in the locker room, on the base paths, and behind the plate.
  22. Floyd is 49 on this list from Baseball Prospectus. Top 50 Prospects of 2004 It is cool to look back at that and see we had 2 guys (Fielder, Weeks) in the top 10 and 3 overall in the top 20, Hardy being rated as the 20th.
  23. Floyd is a guy with potential but he has not lived up to his billing yet. He has been banged around every time he has been in the majors.
  24. From CNNSI: The Racine (Wis.) Journal Times mentions Piston's vice president John Hammond (a.k.a. Joe Dumars' right-hand man) as a candidate for the Bucks' vacancy at general manager. http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/44583 With the way Dumars has built the team I would welcome this. I just hope the owner would stop meddling in personnel decisions.
