  1. I agree its early -- but I don't think there is any doubt that their pitching is much improved over what they ran out there last year.
  2. I can only imagine what these two talk about: So, How do you get your pitches to go where you want them to?
  3. Do you guys remember the ESPN shows? I remember more the Baron, Crusher, Jerry Blackwell, Buck Zumhoff, Steve Reagal, Larry Henning, Greg Gagne.
  4. He clearly won't maintain his .500+ BA for the rest of the year, Pessimist Pete.
  5. Episode 1 -- Seth and Derrick go to jail, after trying to win their girlfriends stuffed animals at the fair.
  6. no one else but Bush can be blamed for walking 6 guys. He just does not seem to have the stuff to be able to make a quality start. Bush only walked 3 guys -- while that is not a super performance by any means -- that's not 6. I really don't want to defend Bush, as I thought he was largely ineffective -- but he really did not get picked up by his teammates. Bush is certainly not helping his case for long term rotation employment, but last night the whole team should have gotten a butt-chewing.
  7. Maybe he meant Ryan Dempster
  8. Gross is certainly a corner outfielder first but let's try to keep some perspective when evaluating him in CF.Both plays that he "should" have made were not routine. Yep... I don't think it is a foregone conclusion that TGJ makes either of those plays. Hart should be in CF anyway, so this whole situation doesn't make much sense anyway. Agreed -- It seems too simple to let Hart play CF. I know Ned seems to have some crazy love affair with Bush, but seeing as how he's put up the only two losses for the team and has been walking people like crazy, I wouldn't be too surprised to see him lose his spot. He may very well lose his spot -- but if it was because of last night, that would be quite unfair. It is almost like putting all of the burden of Cappy's losses last year squarely on Cappy.
  9. Prince's new look is horrible My wife said last night "I thought they got rid of that Estrada guy"
  10. I just hope we don't see a 13 man staff next week when Gallardo is activated, but I could see them doing that. It wouldn't be the first time.
  11. Absolve him(Bush) of what? Being average? I can't hate a guy for being an average pitcher. If the Brewers D played for Suppan like they did for Bush tonight there's no way the Brewers win that game last night. I certainly agree that the defense was a big problem last night. The Brewers did not do a good job at the plate either. However, I thought Bush pitched below average as well, he was continually behind batters, gave up some walks, and never seemed in command of his pitches. I certainly do not think that Bush should be DFA'd or banished to the BP based on last night's game, but he will need to pitch better. The Brewers certainly didn't pick him up at all, and collectively played like a 1-6 team last night.
  12. I remember Gene Okerlund announcing more
  13. Who was Larry Nelson?
  14. I used to watch a ton of AWA My week was not complete until Jake the Milkman got his weekly beatdown.
  15. Nikita is like Robin, either a male or female name. I think in Russian it's specifically used for dudes.
  16. They have wheelchair rugby?
  17. I think it's like wrestling now, where if you change your inflection to a deeper tone, and speak broken English, and wear a red unitard, you can join the Russians.
  18. It's the WNBA and the Olympics... I'm pretty sure the world will keep spinning. The Cold War is over, Nikita Krushchev can't hurt us any more. As a side note -- Do you guys remember that video by Elton John "Nikita" -- I wonder if people ever told him Nikita is a dude's name.
  19. Isn't there a Man Law concerning this? The only "Man Law" any real man should follow, is the ability to make up "laws" on the fly without any regard to past, present or future situations. If the founding fathers were real men, they would have been smart enough to never write anything down, and just continued to make things up as it suited them.
  20. I think it may be more in line with what Tulowitski got, as I think he is on the same clock as Braun?
  21. Dear Mr. Yost..... Just kidding... I really don't have much to add -- but my wife is a coffee snob, and she wanted one of those "one cup at a time" makers, where you buy "pods" (at probably $50 per pound) and make one cup of coffee at a time -- We bought her one for Xmas only to learn that those things are the Nick Neugebauers of coffee machines -- avoid getting one of them.
  22. For some reason on my way to work this morning I was thinking about baseball publications I use buy every year. I'm wondering if anyone else is old enough to remember any of these. Yeah -- Sporting News made a "register" and a "guide" every single year and those things were invaluable back in the day. When I was growing up I collected them, and I have every single guide and register going back to the 50s. I used to collect media guides as well, and have most of the MLB media guides from the 80s. Some teams guides would suck, but then some would be awesome, for example the Rangers did a guide one year where they listed every single K Ryan had, and then broke it out by father and sons, HOFers, guys who faced Ryan the most w/o K'ing. The older TSN registers were cool because they had pictures of the dudes -- and every now and then there would be a dude that never had a baseball card made of them, and I would make a photocopy of their register entry, put it on some sort of an index card and send it to them to be signed.
  23. I'm looking forward to watching the kid pitch.
