  1. I liked Jenks a lot. Especially that cannon arm, his hard play and hustle. Yet, we are a better team today than with him in there. It is almost like he was in charge of keeping the lights on while Prince and all grew up. Thus the changing, and transitory cycle of the athlete.
  2. I'll add a vote for PNC. I also got a great seat right before game time on a beautiful summer night. Easy access parking, great site lines, friendly crowd. Brews lost 300 to one or something like that, but otherwise, a great time.
  3. Yep, all Ned's Fault. --Hardy is hurting, but Ned should play him? --Prince can't get a day off? Even so, he struck out twice, must be Ned's fault. --Mench guns a guy out at the plate, plus hit a double in the ninth, Brewers don't bring him in. Ned's fault, sure thing. --Weeks could not hit a beach ball, yep, Ned's fault. --Bill Hall forgot how to hit today. Darn ned. --Last I looked, Spurling is on the payroll, Ned's fault he was terrible. We need Lew Pinella, yes, for sure, he brings us to the promised land.
  4. One of the best Brewers games in many a year. They just could not hit Sheets. Hardy looks like he wants to prove his worth. Jeff gets a clutch, and then their is Bill Hall (who did not pitch). It was a thrilliing moment when Sheets got the standing O in his last at bat. You don't see that too often. I cannot explain how, but one sensed different..."karma"...from this team. Just, well, different.. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come.
  5. I will be a minority on the rant, I guess. I think it was one of the stupidest, mean spirited posts in the history of this board. One cannot argue the fact that Jenkins has had a miserable year, but the personal vitrol and outright hatred is uncalled for.
  6. Given the game against Cinci today--7/3--with all that happened: this thread is still relevant. Much so.
  7. THE inning? Not yet! Nice way to hold them!
  8. Davis threw 18 pitches, 12 for strikes, good ratio. That is not a huge amount of pitches, not low either, but pretty good.
  9. I was at the game with number one son, and of course, had a great time. I see on the thread some thought Uke overcalled the almost Lee, and Cirillo shots. I can tell you they both looked way gone, and most were surprised when they came up short. Closed roof may have been a factor. (Anybody else wonder why the left field panels were open, with right field closed?) Zack worked very slowly, and gave up some hard hits. However, when he got his outs, he really showed some great pitches. We should stick with this guy a while. In the ninth, after Gross's double, I think everyone in the joint felt we would win. The Karma was very positive, it just seemed inevitable!
  10. Jamie, I do not know where that is online, but it is always under "game report" in the sports section.
  11. If anyone can find me a big steaming bowl of crow I will now consume it. I hear it isn't bad with A1.
  12. I have never left a game in the sixth inning. Until today. Burgerfickle.
  13. Oooooof, Picked the wrong time to see my first Brewer's road game in person. They really looked bad, no life in them, body language of defeated men. High lite of the night was the Polish sausage--grilled, with grilled peppers and onions on a great bakery bun. The rest was downhill.
  14. The injuries have stretched our pitching. I have to believe Melvin is bringing up those he thinks can help. It is not like he has turned stupid. That said, obviously the AAA depth is not there. Helling has to get back, but who knows what we will see. This team is fun, and going to give us some great days, but if the injured pitchers don't make it back, it will be an up and down year.
  15. A women living in the Rotten Oak trailer park in Kissyoursister Alabama saw Bill Hall's image in a grilled cheese sandwhich. Ther is a 173 mile backup on SR 31 into Kissyoursister Alabama.
  16. Darn, I was going to drive down to Tijauna tonight. Going back a few posts, though, I never implied we were above reproach. However, I will state that on the whole, we are much more civil, and if not, we get our butt spanked. We have our nattering nabobs of negativity (thank you Spiro) but it is usually kept in check. As well, if any of our members troll the opposition just to stir up trouble, shame on you. Bad! Bad!
  17. Homer, you are correct, the Brewers MLB forum is really populated by Neanderthals (sorrry to any Neanderthals out there). That is why I like it here. We do get tough at times, but usually in a very civil manner. Thanks to the rules and guidlines set up by Brian and the mods. What I was amazed at though is I thought perhaps the Phil Phan--or any indepenent site--set up by knowldegable fans would be like Brewerefan. Therfore, it amazed me to read the ugliness on Phil Phan. For our part, I am glad we all like to keep our site as it is--lively and enjoyable.
  18. For fun, check out the IGT thread from the PhilPhan board. Wow, I thought we get rough, but these folks are foaming at the mouth. Some nasty stements in there. It is amusing they keep calling us a mediocre team. Here is the link: Phil Phan link
  19. Did the attendance get reported in this thread? If so, I missed it. Anyone? They saw a(nother) great game. 27,419 according to gameday
  20. -For what it is worth, here is the link to the Philly message board post about our AAA lineup. Phil Phan -Let's be gentle with the Chad, he does mean well. --Bwaz, do some work
  21. Yes, endaround, I do hold Yost responsible. His decision did not work, however, Shouse is the one ultimately responsible guy. Nonetheless, sometimes, moves do not work. Yet, why is he a "moron" or "idiot" for that move? If we micro review everything, is not he then a "genius" for pinch hitting Rillo? My vent is the name calling, each decision has an outcome, and sometimes that outcome is bad. I just don't get the name calling
  22. Yost made a move, it did not work. It was a risky, but not a totally weird move. You guys who use "moron" and "idiot" are way off. But then again, it is easy to criticize from afar. I was at the game, and it appeared T Bow was struggling. I recall at one point five balls in a row. He just did not look sharp, he looked out of sorts. Perhaps Yost saw that, and, you got to think Maddux had some say in it. Shouse blew it, but I think the "moron" charges represent emotional and faulty logic.
  23. Billy Hall did not hit a walk off. DFA him !!!!!! ar ar ar!
