  1. I didn't get as great a deal on the Winelsas jersey 2 years ago (it was $125), but I was honestly really mad that they didn't have any 2008 jerseys out. I was prepared to spend $200 on Tavarez. Overall, I thought the sale this year was very poorly run compared to the past. It was mostly young guys way too full of themselves working there.
  2. I really hope there is a day when cbustim and I cross paths at a Brewers game and am intested to see what the fallout would be from our dueling Winkelsas jerseys.
  3. I am dead set on getting a Tavarez jersey to join the Winkelsas in my closet. I am serious.
  4. Hopefully the camera crew for the Mariners television games will have better luck following Branyan's record-setting homeruns.
  5. I just wanted to give everyone the heads up to be sure and watch the Channel 10 Holiday Auction this Saturday and Sunday from 5-9. I'll be on-camera about every 15-20 minutes with some "steals". Saturday night will be hosted by Sandy Maxx and Robb Edwards, some familiar faces and voices for us Brewer fans. And in terms of items, there's some great Brewers/Baseball memorabilia, but I am not at liberty to discuss what it is.
  6. I sincerely wish them the best of luck. Without the Cubs, the Brewers aren't in the playoffs. They played their hearts out, especially last Wednesday night against the Mets, when they had all the reason to be disinterested and give up. If they lose to the Dodgers, that truly is a shame as they ultimately were the ones who had a hand in controlling who they would play (Dodgers or Mets). And I know that if they lose, that will be a major talking point and something you'll hear bemoaned, but I find no reason to not pull for them.
  7. Gallardo to start on Wednesday according to JSonline
  8. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but if the FLA-NYM game is called due to rain before the 5th...how does that work? Does the game start over or would it be resumed? I thought they tinkered with the rules recently...
  9. I think if you're in your seats doing that, it's fine, but since you were just standing around and spitting them out in a public area, that was the issue. It was wrong of the guy to threaten to bring in the cops after you established that you were a season ticket holder, as it is always best to cater to season ticket owners. At the same time, you aren't entitled to openly make a small mess in an area that isn't your seats. In the end, if you do it again, I'd just have the cup and that way there is no controversy.
  10. I'm 100% behind Adam in this and believe that he was right to go over Haudricourt in addressing his complaint. TH's tendency to blow off comments and be unadulteratedly snarky meant that Adam's thoughts would have no impact if he contacted him directly. He did the right thing and I hope that TH is rightfully punished for his insanely inappropriate actions. TH's stunning lack of common sense blows me away.
  11. Cubs just took a three run lead in the 7th. First place was nice for a day.
  12. Lee ties it with a solo shot in the bottom of the 7th.
  13. If I were Ned, I'd try to get myself tossed just to try and have something other than Suppan to talk about tonight.
  14. Uggla hits a solo bomb, 6-5 Marlins.
  15. Soriano hits a three run jack, 5-5
  16. Jacobs hits another, initially not called a homerun, but Pinella nemesis Rob Drake makes the right call and swirls his finger around in the group meeting of the umps. 5-0 Marlins.
  17. I like that Rob Drake and Lou Pinella are bitter rivals. I don't know if you read Lou's lips as he complained to the home ump after the ejection, but he clearly yelled "What the 'heck' is wrong with this guy? WHAT'S WRONG WITH HIM?!"
  18. And Harden once again won't pick up a win.
  19. I watched the game on MLB.tv tonight. Lou was about to make a double switch and bring in Howry/Fukudome. When he went to the mound, Harden convinced Pinella to let him stay in the game. I don't know how big of a factor tonight's game is, but if Harden continues to throw so many pitches over the course of 5 innings, that pitch count may be extended just so he can go a little deeper.
  20. For the life of me, I could not find the Brewers statue when I was in New York last week.
  21. A rare "awful call goes to the Brewers way".
  22. I think we know whose spot Gagne will take over when he comes back.
