  1. Fine. So with 2AB's left for each team and hindsight aside, what gives you the best chance to keep guys like Pujols, Edmunds, Eckstein, Grd, etc.from scoring again I assume you mean 2 innings and I guess I see it different than you. While I appreciate your sentiments you are ignoring half the equation. What does it matter if Sheets holds the cards hitless for the rest of the game if the Crew doesn't get the chance to score again anyway? When you haven't scored at all yet AND it's getting late AND you are losing, it's time to maximize your scoring opportunity and take your chances with the bullpen, IMO. As usual, Yost didn't lose the game single handedly but he sure helped it along.
  2. Magruder is on this team because he is supposed to be able to hit the ball. He didn't. He failed. With your rationale, it makes no difference WHO a manager puts in there to get the job done since they are all "supposed to be able to hit the ball"? Even the best batters fail most of the time, afterall. I just can't see your logic. It would be absolutely unfair to put the whole lose on Ned's shoulders. All I can say is a disagreed with Yost's move before he did it and I still do. I'll trade Sheets for 2 innings for an AB by Helms in a crucial situation. This wasn't the 5th inning people.
  3. NOW I get it. yost wanted to save Helms for when there's 2 outs in the 9th and none on, down by 3. Stupid me.
  4. Why is Hall consistantly stealing playing time over Branyan at 3B? Hall is not a 3B, defensively or offensively. I'll never "get it."
  5. also why did Yost bat sheets with Hall At 3rd. I asked because could not watch the game today You obviously hate Yost! Back off! It was obviously the right decision!
  6. First time here during a game? The motto for most here who try to convince themselves that Ned Yost is the reason the Brewers are bad...if you can't second guess, don't guess at all. How can I second guess when I said to pinch hit BEFORE Yost even decided? It's like people just skip over posts sometimes. I'm not saying that because it didn't work out I was obviously right, just don't tell me I just start blaminig Yost when things don't wortk out. I mean, it's on a friggin' a message board with PROOF.
  7. I love how nobody had any idea what to do before the Sheets move didn't work, but as soon as we failed to score a run, all the people on here make it seem obvious that Yost made the wrong call. You need to read the thread again, apparently. rluzinski: "What's the point of leaving Sheets and his dominance in if they lose 1-0?" Rydogg: "holy crap he is leaving him in."
  8. I'll say it again. What's teh point of having a dominating pitcher in if you don't score a single run? No pitcher can win with 0 runs. I would trade 2 innings of relief pitching to have a real hitter bat instead of Sheets. Owell.
  9. I swear to GOD if Yost calls a suicide.... Why is Magruder in the majors? Why do we need to count on him here? Why does he pretend he's a switch hitter?
  10. What's the point of leaving Sheets and his dominance in if they lose 1-0? I would like Helms or Branyan in there.
  11. Hardy really isn't the worst guy to have up there, needing a flyout to score a run. Since he's decided to be a deadpull hitter he's flown out to left field a million times. Give us one more!
  12. Leadoff double by Hall. PLEASE DON'T LET THIS END THE WAY I THINK IT WILL. IT WILL BE A HORRIBLE FOIL TO THE REDBIRD'S 1ST INNING.
  13. The Brewers didn't win so those 5 HRs didn't count. Just padding stats.
  14. With Branyan on deck sacrificing isnt really a no-brainer since Russel is going to most likely k anyway. I here he also walks and hit's HRs on occasions.
  15. Last night's game proved one thing; Jenkins CANNOT hit clutch HRs. The outcome of the game proves as much. Jenkins, you suck! EDIT: When was the last time a team hit 5 HRs in a game and LOST? That's really hard to do.
  16. These guys are professionals, and while I'd never claim that pressure doesn't exist, it shouldn't exist in game 115 to such degree it causes a player to drop a ball that most A-ballers would have turned into a double play. Agreed. Hall and Clark missed both because they aren't good defenders. Simple as that.
  17. So, if this truelly was a "must win," does that mean I don't have to hear about the real chances of a post season birth for the Crew? You can't have it both ways, right? Bring on the Packers.
  18. Let me get this straight: Bottom of the 11th, no outs and a runner at first. A ball is hit right at Hall, that would have resulted in a doubleplay (according to the tv). Hall boots it, allowing runner on SECOND AND THIRD with no out instead. That wasn't the game changing moment? A walk was? OK. OK.
  19. Thank you Hall for that pathetic attempt at being a major league SS. You suck.
  20. 0% of no outs. Bases loaded walk. Absoluetely perfect. Good night.
  21. 1 out! 33% chance of no runs!
  22. Sutton saying it's a lose for sure? That seems odd to me. REALLY odd. 13% of the time, a team scores zero runs with the bases loaded and no out.
  23. Hall is a GREAT defender! What did I tell you! Defense would cost us this game! Go figure. Base hit? Yehhh. Error stats are useless.
  24. I've got a great feeling about this game. no really. I'm not kidding! The Brewers are resilient! Stop looking at me like that!!!!
