  1. I appreciate why Yost didn't pull Cap after 4. It just always seems to work that Yost doesn't pull his starter, let's him bat, and the starter doesn't even pitcha full inning after. I really was hoping Yost would pull Cap after two were on with no out in the fifth. Just didn't happen.
  2. Cap bats for himself in the bottom of 4th after 4 miserable innings. Then he get's rocked for 3 runs in 1/3 of an inning before getting pulled. Looks good to me.
  3. O look, Yost kept him in untill he completely fell apart. I NEVER would have gussed that! I know, I know, you really taught him something Yost. You are a master teacher! NOW YOU PULL HIM! So 5 runs in 4 innings, with runners at first and second and no out...... he's fine. 8 runs in 4.1 innings and noone on, time to pull him. Yost is an idiot.
  4. I guess Yost is going to wait for Cap to COMPLETELY fall apart... Yost loves to do that!
  5. Branyan again! damnit, should have stayed at third. tieing run at second with no outs is good enough.
  6. ANY time teh starters get run support from teh crappy brewer offense they fall apart. UNCANNY.
  7. During Autralia's win in the Olympics: "Catcher Dave Nilsson, formerly of the Chunichi Dragons, went 3-for-5 for Australia with an RBI and two runs scored. " MOELLER almost hit that one out?
  8. JENKINS!!!! 3 run bomb!! I hate Maddox and the Cubs..... this might be a good day!
  9. 2 on branyan up and up 2-0! EDIT: OUCH, K
  10. Clark mess up in the first? Nice to Jenkins back on track defensively, throwing out a runner at 3rd. Hall just LIVES on the 2-1 fastball http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Game tied, 1-1.
  11. Yost, in the post game conferance about Branyan's performance tonight: "We'll, everyone get's lucky, but I'm pretty sure the Cubs were telling him what pitches they were going to throw. I mean, he doesn't even like NASCAR! I mean, I've never hit ball after ball to HIM while I was a bench coach in Atlanta. I think it's obvious that Wes should start the rest of the year." This one would have been nice....
  12. Yeh, yeh, Bill Hall is really clutch http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I'll take er'!
  13. and dont blame billy hall for this lost.....bottom line is him and branyon or the only good hitters right now Hall's stats suck.. unless you mean he's "clutch". In that case I will ask you to look at Pods from this year and last. I had to suffer through hearing how "clutch" Pods was last year, OVER AND OVER. This year, as awefull as Pods has been, he's batted almost 50 points lower in the clutch. He had ONE good year in high desert (hitters league, no?) in 2001, so all all of a sudden he was labeled a "prospect". Now, there is no question he was rushed, hurting his development. The fact remains, however, he never played good defense and he never walked. Hall can't play defense, he can't steal and he can't get on base. He has a little pop for a middle infielder, but it takes a little more than that to be a starter in the majors. I'm sure his offensive stats will imrpove over time, but never enough to warrant having his butcher of a glove on the field.
  14. This game illustrates perfectly why Bill Hall is living on a two game reputation. He has a sub .300 OBP and has played AWEFULL defense his whole career. Yet because he won a couple games for the Crew half the people here are convinced his a good player. His error lost this game, don't forget that.
  15. He said made two points: 1. It's convenient to rest Branyan against lefties since he needs to rest his wrist. 2. He downplayed his career stats against lefties, saying that No lefties do well against Willis. Personally, I think he's response was a bit weak. I can appreciate him not starting against Willis, but it's obvious Yost isn't going to start him against ANY lefties
  16. what are the chances that branyon will sign with the brewers to be the starting 3b in 2005?? As long as Yost is the manager, and Helm is under contract, Helms will start. Sad but true. Clark caught stealing again. He is SUCH a pathetic base stealer.
  17. Branyan now has TWICE the HR's of Helms. Yost must be really upset. It must be tough for him to see players that aren't gritty battling "Yost boys" doing well.
  18. I went to the game nad wish top sum up some thoughts, some already said: * Overbay and Branyan should NEVER be sat because a left is out there. * I have NEVER seen such a pathetic lineup on any team in my life. * Obermueller pinch hits in teh 5th and the media doesn't even mention it? Did I miss something? Who ever justified pinch hitting him in the 5th based on 25 Ab this year just doesn't get it. Thank you again, Yost, for ruining my Saturday. 40 thousand fans were treated to your idiocy. But Wes, Clark and Trent started, so I guess you are happy.
  19. If that account of Yost scowling at Branyan's HR has any truth to it, that is trully sad. Yost's freindship with Helms is more important than his team winning?
  20. And Bryyant has SUCH a hard time against left handers.....
  21. So branyan is still hurt? How did he play a couple days ago, then?
  22. i'll be there again....hooray If you don't mind me asking, wher eyou going to sit, what are you going to wear? Is it your turn to catch a ball? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. and, as soon as i point out that brady clark has been unreal on the road, he becomes useless... How usefull are home/road splits anyway. Other than park factors, what phenomina are you trying to observe? Seems that home/road splits that are WAY different are just fluky. Look at Helms from last year. Clark has a career .730ish OPS, there is no reason to believe that that will ever significantly improve, Road OR Home (unless he is traded to the Rockies).
  24. For a bad outing, Davis didn't really do all that bad. Sheets does the same thing during an off day. I guess that's what good pitchers do.
