    Jim Powell just gave us an interesting stat: this is the first game in a week that the Brewers have not trailed 3-0. Now they lead 3-0! Gameday tells me that all but one of Braun's home runs have come vs righties. I think he's heating up.

    Did we just take the lead? I may turn the game off right now, bury my head in the sand and imagine that it was the bottom of the ninth. Woo-hoo! Corey Hart with a two-out double!

    Well, Prince redeemed himself on that one, right there. Whew. I also find it sad that the hit and run was so poor that they even managed a pitch-out.

    I think they just randomly swear at little kids, chant "Lesh go CUB-BIES!" and pour beer on anything that moves. Anyway, I hope tonight is when Manny Parra remembers that he's a good pitcher and starts trusting in his stuff and pitching to contact, the Cardinals lineup remembers that it's seven professional out-makers and Albert Pujols, and the Brewers don't kick off another sweep in the negative direction. Edit: I decided to make the Cub-fan trashing in blue. They're usually not that bad.

    I was just thinking while Counsell was up (I checked back while typing to see that he'd struck out) that this IS (err, was) the time and place for a sac bunt. Heh.

    Heh. I think it's more likely due to the fact that he only plays against righties. When a guy like Braden Looper can just walk Prince Fielder four times and bank on the rest of the lineup putting down their bats when they step to the plate, you can't really blame it on Gross.

    Got him for real this time. Whew. E-6, runner advancing on a pickoff due to E-3, double steal on a bad throw... Then, of course, Parra buckles down and gets two Ks with runners in scoring position. This kid is outstanding.

    OK, so the pitch FX are out-standing. Also, Manny Parra is awesome. I see big things for him this year. Also, he needs a better-fitting hat in his profile picture.

    My friends and I still call him Zombie Catcher, for the joke coming into Spring Training in 2006, that he was old enough to die in Spring Training, then come back as a zombie. If he ever scored, we could shout "BRAINS!! RBI!!!" at the tv. He was just about our favorite player to root for.
