  1. 1. Gallardo 2. Villanueva 3. Parra I think that looks pretty good for a top of the rotation, especially since the lineup we'd have would be terrifying. Yankee-esque, even. Weeks-Johnson-Braun-Fielder-Hart-Francoeur-Estrada-Hardy-Pitcher is pretty brutal. When 7 and 8 are the closest things to an easy out in the lineup, I'd be frightened. That team would win a lot of 9-7 games.
  2. There's a lot of talk about how bad the Brewers infield defense is, and most people consider Hardy to be the only above-average defender of the bunch. If Bill Hall moves back to the infield, from left to right, it'll go awful-below average-really bad-below average. No thanks. I'll stick with awful-above average-really bad-below average, if Braun and Weeks aren't moving to the outfield.
  3. I read a rumor that Dodgers management is looking to deal some youngsters, as there are two camps, veterans and young guys, and they don't get along. Management made the stupid decision of sticking with the veterans. This includes guys like Luis Gonzalez and Juan Pierre. So, it might not be too impossible to get one of those position prospects from the Dodgers.
  4. I just popped onto Gameday to see that Z had led off with a double. Then Brandon Webb punches out the top of the order, in order. Man, that guy is good. Hopefully he keeps it up tonight. What are the chances we see Micah Owings pinch hit? If he does, what are the chances he goes yard? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. Wouldn't it be ironic to get win #82 off of Joe Thatcher? Edit: Vinny Rottino - do the local-boy-plays-the-hero thing now. Do it.
  6. Heh - but it's in the ninth inning - that almost satisfies the no-closer-in-a-non-save situation. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/roll.gif
  7. Ooh, I'll be there with my dad. I got the tickets after the third Braves game, assuming they were out of it and we'd just be there to enjoy one last game. Then the Cubs got my hopes up by sucking, and the Brewers dashed them, again by sucking. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  8. Anybody see the DP right before Weeks's home run? Uecker mentioned that it was a close play. Would have been nice to get two on that one. Especially since Bush gave the run right back.
  9. (I don't know how to quote) Anyway, on that topic, that game was great - I was watching it in my friend's basement, and it was ridiculous, but if you want cheap shots, you should have read the comments from Erasmus James in an SI article later that year. It went something like this - "before the game, Kyle Orton was on everybody's Heisman list. Now he's on my highlight reel." I remember loving that one. On topic, if we win tonight, I expect some awesome pics of everybody's favorite 80's singer. Good work on the D reference. I love it.
  10. The awful peripherals really showed for Vargas tonight. This guy is so frustrating. He has the stuff, he just nibbles too much.
  11. Wheee!!! That's what the ball was thinking as Prince sent it for a ride. I don't think that arm's causing him too much trouble.
  12. Way to go, Tony! I believe he has more home runs than Rickie Weeks. Yep, our backup second baseman has more home runs than our young prodigy. Weeks really needs to pick it up. When he plays, that is.
  13. Side note, that episode of Scrubs is hilarious. Anyway, about Braun being cocky, they're right. There's an article from earlier this week about Braun being surprised by his success, and he says, "clearly I'm extremely confident in my abilities..." Of course, that doesn't make me like him any less. Oh well, add fuel to the rivalry. On our side we have Braun, on their side they have Ramirez, Soriano and Zambrano.
  14. Let's go notCubs! Speaking of the scrubs, it's nice to see that Fontenot is no longer putting up numbers that would put Ted Williams to shame... I find it funny how Mark Derosa keeps playing in the outfield. I swear, it seems like that team has five middle infielders and six corner outfielders.
  15. Ryan Church breaks up the no-no - c'mon Soup, get out of this.
  16. Wow. I get back from Door County (lovely vacation with my gf), and I'm at my comp checking email. Then I decide to check on the Brewers, and they're playing, and I see back-to-back jacks from Braun and Fielder. Way to go, kids. Way to go.
  17. Is this on the radio at all? I want to run to the store, and listen in my car, plus I don't have cable.
  18. Ladies and gentlemen, your starting first baseman for the National League... Prince Fielder! Is that a Badger Mutual Insurance Run?
  19. I'm Officially Worried about the Brew Crew facing JDLR today. Just a hunch. Hopefully, though, he'll have trouble with his command and get shelled. Here's also hoping that Soup stops doing his Designated Rotation Stooge impression.
  20. Second pitch, right in the wheelhouse. I agree that Bow or Coco would have been much better options to face Morneau, but either one of them might have coughed up that shot - Morneau punishes a lot of pitchers. I feel pretty good about this loss - it would have been nice to win it, but it felt good to have that comeback there. On a side note, Uecker's call on that Fielder home run was absolutely priceless.
  21. As long as he doesn't pull something like that moonwalk by Soriano, I'm okay with it.
  22. How much does holding Bill Hall at third on a single stand now? If he scores, then Gwynn likely gets to third on the throw, and scores on Counsell's sac fly - 10-9 and bring on CoCo. Anyway, good to see we tied it up. Lew Ford: Brewer-killer decides to give one back. Wait... Spurling coughs up the game-winner. D'oh!
  23. Do you think the decision to hold Billy Hall has something to do with the two bad home plate calls we've seen in the past week?
  24. I woulda never believed it if I weren't listening to Uecker and Powell on the radio...
  25. That's the least likely Fielder home run I've ever heard...
