  1. This guy has been fun to watch in the link report over the past few seasons. I don't know a ton about him but it seems like he has just as good of a chance as any of our minor league pitchers to be an impact arm at the major league level. I'd like to hear more about him, and about his injury history. From what I can tell, he hasn't gone more than 2 1/3 innings this season but has been dominant. His WHIP is under 1 and he's holding opposing batters to a .163 BA. He has a 22/2 K/BB ratio...so why isn't he being pushed into more innings? Are we still worried about his injuries? I don't have an issue with him still being in Brevard if he's going to be starting ball games and getting stretched out. But if the Brewers plan to use him as a reliever, shouldn't he move up to Huntsville for as dominant as he's been?
  2. It's fine as long as you don't ask for something from another player, and if you hadn't done the exact same thing to Jenkins.
  3. I would assume. I would also hope that hurricane would get the call up. He obviously plays Rickie's position (2b) and can also play all three outfield spots if needed. He's having a solid year at the dish as well. His current line is .368/.470/.838 before todays game.
  4. At least get him a pinch hit in the 8th when you have a 5 run lead. Did we really need a sacrifice bunt with a 5 run lead? I understand letting Coffey going back out there again but our bullpen is fully rested. The only relievers to pitch in the last two days are DeFilice and Hoffman; with a 5 run lead, neither are going to pitch today. LET THE KID PLAY. Sorry for the caps...
  5. Problem is, this did not happen? You could play what if I won a Million Dollars yesterday too, but it doesn't make the trade look any better tomorrow. So with the argument you just stated we could've threw in Escobar, Gamel, and LuCroy and if we would've won the World Series it would've been worth it? And can people justify CC's greed in taking more money when he's already set for life. The dumbest part was the mere fact he was going to a hitter's part if the guy would've read what they had been speculating about it for months and the mere fact he works for a loser family. Read the quote I was referring too. His quote was talking about what if we didn't make the playoffs. So I rebuttled and said, what if we had won the world series? It goes both ways.
  6. What if we had won the World Series? Would it have been worth it then? Last summer was the greatest 2 and a half months of my life. Once your in the playoffs, anything can happen, I think the Cards and Marlins have shown that. Doug had the guts to go for it, and I love him for it. I'm sick and tired of being the same old Brewers who just try and win by hoarding prospects. At some point the law of diminishing returns comes into play. We needed CC and we got him. It didn't get us to our ultimate goal but we took a chance.
  7. The trade is a no brainer win. Don't forget about the draft picks we got.
  8. My buddy told me about this and to be honest, I came here first looking for discussion about it. I honestly can't find anything on it here or on the JS Online blog. There is an article on brewers.com that I just found. (Not sure why I didn't look there first) Any ways, feel free to delete this if there is already discussion I just figured it was pretty relevant info if there wasn't already a thread. Link The Brewers tacked on their own 10-game suspension, according to general manager Doug Melvin. Lambertus, a 20-year-old right-hander who had been pitching for Class A Wisconsin, tested positive for metabolites of Boldenone, an anabolic steroid developed for veterinary use, mostly for the treatment of horses, in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. I like that the Crew is adding another 10 games.
  9. Did anyone else watch this? Anyone else concerned with his response about playing in Milwaukee and him being a "big city" guy.
  10. I'll go in for the sheets ball. Thanks Pedro.
  11. I appreciate the generosity and I'll put my name in the ring for the tickets.
  12. Here's to one day being able to buy you a beverage of your choice. I'll never forget you Jim Powell, I'll never forget. Baseball players make a lot of coin, you know who else does pretty well for themselves? Schneider National drivers.
  13. This may not be the spot to debate this, but why would you want to waste Escobar at second base?
  14. I don't think it's that simple. The Detroit Lions used to play in Pontiac, MI. Did they call them the Pontiac Lions? No. It's all about marketing.
  15. Nope we were actually at the Brat Kabin.
  16. Do you still need more entries? If so, I will submit one later tonight.
  17. I don't know that it will change that drastically since we replaced out top guys by in house guys. I'm sure they all have their own philosophies but I doubt we'll see to much of a drastic change in draft strategy.
  18. I love the Gamel interview and all the other ones on there that they do with other players, but I do have a little constructive criticism. Every single time he asks a question, he ends up asking 2, 3, sometimes 4 questions, all during one question. Most of the time it confuses the player and he only answers one question. Sometimes the questions aren't even related. So again, I appreciate the interviews, but they could be worked on a little bit.
  19. Pretty classy on your part too JJ, and JJ.
  20. Wow, is it wrong that I've listened to this like 37 times already this morning? Chilling.
