    Oh hey! There is a Packer game tonight! I think it would be awesome if some or the whole Brewer team showed up at Lambeau, but I'm not holding my breath. I have to take my girls to a choir concert to see their friends perform and then I'll watch once I get home. No injuries is priority 1, and whatever this offensive line is doing, I hope it gets figured out. Maybe Zeitler plays. Who knows.

    I thought it would be fun to search the Brewers top prospects 30 years ago in 1996. What it actually led me to was this gem of an article from BP. Enjoy. For some of us, it may bring back the dark times. Only the Brewers take that as a sign of talent." About Antone Williamson: "He'll be a breath of fresh air if/when he makes the majors: a big, beefy, jowly kind of player, the kind of guy who has to count his chins, just like the Brewers we remember fondly, like Gorman Thomas or Pete Vuckovich." Scott Talanoa: "The slugging Samoan? Talanoa was a dramatic flop at New Orleans and had to go down to El Paso, where he quickly injured his knee and ended his season. He's absolutely gigantic, so the knee injury is particularly threatening for his future." Kevin Seitzer: "The human barcalounger afield showed signs of life, at least throwing those balls that hit his glove to other fielders to start the occasional double play. He's probably Garner's favorite player, because he's adept at the hit-and-run and the sacrifice, and can get on base at any time. He's a useful part of any team, as long as the team can expect to find power at positions he can't play."

    I was just crunching some numbers and I guess I just hadn't realized it but not counting 2020, between 2017 until this year, we've went 837-622. Counting 2020, it's 866 wins. Dodgers, Astros and Yankees are ahead in wins in that time. However, for the Astros (because I live in Houston), it was lots of wins between 2017-2022 and not as many over the last 3. We've been one of the most consistent teams in baseball over the past 10 years. And here's the best part. We're just getting started. We've got a young core that's growing together, a lot of bullets in the pipeline and financially speaking, things have been managed extremely well. The Dodgers and Yankees spend, spend, spend, the Dodgers are old and the Yankees are going to take a major step back, I believe. The Astros are going to be rebuilding. That leaves us in such an absolutely great place. I'm ecstatic and can't wait for the work stoppage to be over with and baseball to resume.....whenever. Until then, I'll be reveling in this win.

    I'm optimistic I may sleep at some point. Until then.....caffeine and sugar. I'm optimistic the Packers will win tonight. I'm optimistic the Badgers will win on Saturday. I'm optimistic that prices of living will drop drastically tomorrow. OK, the last one is a stretch.....but the sun is shining a lot brighter today and there's a pep in my step, even with 3 and a halfish hours of sleep.

    I know I posted it in last night's IGT that I wouldn't start another thread about the meaning of all of this, but listening to Jen, Gabe and Chewy on ESPN Milwaukee this morning and hearing people calling in, I had to. My dad and I didn't have a whole lot in common. We weren't always close. He wanted me to help him with projects and his way of having me help was hold things. That's how his dad taught him, but I wanted to actually participate. But there was one thing we had and could talk about. Baseball. He took me to so many games. We listened to the radio and heard the games. So many great memories surrounded by baseball. Cancer took him in 2017.. I'm missing him a lot this morning.

    Young talent is going to take you very far. I saw the Astros up close and the only reasons they didn't continue their run (outside of yes, the cheating) was depleting the farm system in trades, and not be able to fully restock the farm due to the punishments from cheating. We don't have to worry about the cheating thing with the Brewers. And we've got a ton of talent in the pipeline. It's going to be a good run, I feel.

    Do you remember when Lou Palsmo made our WOAHS SOLVDD? Or when we were all in awe of Bill Hall and questioned whether or not he could pitch? We've got actual World Series champions to celebrate. We've come a long way.

    When we made it to the World Series, I created the thread titled "What does making the World Series mean to you?" I don't need to make a companion thread this time. We all know. It means everything. All day, I've been thinking about my dad. I didn't have much in common with him growing up, but we had the Brewers. He took me to games, and I passionately followed the team. He's been gone since 2017, which makes tonight so bittersweet. But I'm so thankful, because without him, I don't know how much I would love baseball.

    I got to witness some of the mid 80's Beloit Brewers teams. It's a longer way from that.
