  1. They are sending Cain back out with 101 pitches?
  2. I still need to blink a couple times to make sure that we actually have Sabathia pitching for us.
  3. Rowand doesn't look comfortable out there..
  4. This ump is not giving the pitchers anything..
  5. In that situation they would probably walk Sabathia to face Weeks..
  6. I will go on record saying I like this move to bring in Torres knowing you will get lots of innings the next two days with CC and Sheets.
  7. Well we will get to see Bill Hall PH to either tie it, win it, or K to end it.. please let it be one of the first two..
  8. Go! Go! Go!.. we need the major league indian doing the smoke signals..
  9. Or if Branyan could field a grounder from the pitcher or if McClung wouldn't have walked the pitcher.. Face it the Brewers don't deserve to win so if they do it will offset the last game in Arizona.. Come on Hart.. be awesome..
  10. A smash up the middle? can't control the bounce.
  11. I thought the ump suffered from gingerphobia but it is more general I think probably: Methyphobia
  12. I will give you that I don't see you posting things such as: - I hate this team - I will quit watching if XXX happens So I don't have a problem with your posts but you do seem to tend to the negative (some people would say this is realistic).. not criticizing just an observation.. And yes my screen name should probably be Mary Sunshine.. I fully except I am an overt optimist. Edit: Change wording as my brain quit working for a minute.
  13. Villy has been very good since going to the pen.. Stetter and Gagne have proven control problems. The priority there is get out of the inning not about who will bat the next inning.. I could see the argument to use Parra but he also has had his control issues.. Maybe you would bring Riske in for 1 batter but again he wouldn't have been warming up in that situation. But you did actually pick a pitcher so I will agree to disagree Stetter and/or Gagne might have gotten out of that and then Dillon might have ignited a rally.. statistically speaking I would bank on the way Yost did it.
  14. Yes..very few good at bats this game from the Brewers..
  15. Ok.. so you say Riske and Stetter are out.. I can just imagine what you would say if Yost would have brought in Gagne or Mota in that situation with the bases loaded. So that leaves: Shouse Torres Villy I think we can agree Torres is not an option there and Shouse is basically your setup man right now and he wouldn't have been warming up that early. So again I ask who exactly do you bring in there? "Anyone" isn't on the roster.. Edited for bad typing
  16. So I will ask again if you are manager what would you have done there.. I don't see a better solution then what he did.
  17. after the all-star break I don't see how Villy/Shouse don't become your 8th innings guys once Suppan comes off the DL .
  18. So russ, what should he have done.. they blew threw the bullpen yesterday.. with bases loaded he wanted someone to throw strikes (rules out Gagne/Stetter).. obviously not a situation for Meltdown Mota and no way he brings in his closer there.. so the choice is either villy or shouse..
  19. I think it is pretty apparent that this ump suffers from gingerphobia or gingerism and should look into getting help.
  20. I agree on this ump but then the brewers need to realize this and sit on some fastballs when they are up..
  21. If the Brewers trade for Harden, I would think it would be to lock up a Joe Nathan type of closer for a couple of years.. He is the only pitcher out there that scares me if the cubs get him as he might have the best stuff in the AL right now IF he stays healthy. I can't see the Cubs having enought to get him as Beane would drive a hard bargain. I would probably cost the Brewers Gamel, Brantley, and Braddock to get him.

  24. I don't think it is a question of whether we should trade him or not.. at this point it is yes to free up money to make a run at Sheets.. the question more likely can we without basically taking a large salary in return. I can only see a scenario where we package him to dump him on somebody else. For example if Weeks or Hall pull a Hardy and go on fire the last half to increase their value that we can package them to another team. So I think it is pretty safe to say we will be in the soup for a couple of years.
  25. Three things here: 1. As they increase revenue they get decreased payments from the large market teams. It isn't a 1 to 1 ratio but if for each dollar more they bring in they might only add 60 cents to the bottom line when the "welfare" amount is reduced accordingly. 2. I am sure this is taking into account the debt service. It is like me saying I made no money this month but paid 3 mortgages and build up so much in equity.. 3. They have also invested in capital improvements in Miller Park to help generate future revenue but are mostly like accounting most of the cost now. I never thought they would get past $70 million on payroll so to be at $90 million it is not suprising they are not making money this year. It is only concerning when they are unable to make this deal because of the "economics of baseball"
