  1. I wonder if anybody who was ripping Yost for the JV lineups the last week will give him any credit if the Brewers put up 40 this weekend... Well I know the answer to that one I guess.. I wasn't a big fan of the lineups either but can't complain with the last two games..
  2. awesome guy who came in for Dunn gets a hit..
  3. big throw out at home on Jacque Jones.. Come on Cincy..
  4. I guess they want Linebrink to get some low pressure work to be sharp for the weekend.
  5. Don't you let Vargas go one more? 125 pitches? Save the pen.
  6. Hard to focus on facts when you are busy making up fake award shows and such mind numbing segments as Who Now.
  7. Fine though it was meant to be a list of what prospects you like to follow which I thought was the intent of the link report.
  8. Sorry I should be more more clear.. I didn't mean to say these were the top prospects just the ones I most likely look for first when checking box scores.. Taylor Green would be 6 on my list.. I agree that I don't get really excited until a hitter starts hitting in Brevard County or a pitcher starts pitching in Huntsville.
  9. Is it to cheer it up as half our farm system has been promoted (Villy, Gallardo, Braun, Parra), traded (Inman, Garrison, Thatcher), or injured (Rogers, LaPorta, Braddock) or suspended (Salome). My current top 5 position player follow list include: 1. Gamel 2. Brantley 3. Ford 4. LuCroy 5. Gillepsie Top 5 pitcher follow list: 1. Jeffress 2. Miller 3. Amundsen 4. McClendon 5. Welch Pretty slim pickings for how spoiled we have been in the minors that last 3 or 4 years.
  10. Ned didn't want to pitch Parra because he didn't want him to accumulate innings to be off the Power 50 by the end of the year.. with all the graduation that last 2 years they want to make sure the Power 50 still had high profile prospects to draw new recruits to this site. Just another example of how Brewerfan.net has overstepped their boundaries and started dictating game strategy.
  11. Litmus test if you are a diehard brewer fan.. I am actually rooting for the game to go extra's and Bonds to hit two more homers so the cubs lose and he doesn't play the entire weekend series.
  12. This is not a rip on the author of the post but everytime I hear this phrases I start to cringe similar to when I hear: "This NBA prospect has tremendous upside" For a larger sample size I say send him back to AAA
  13. The one concern about trading Wise away from T-Bow is the same concern when they took Angelo Dundee away from Tyson? How long before T-Bow shows up on the mound with a face tattoo?
  14. Before the game it was Wise, Tony Gwynn Jr. and Escobar for Dunn... Now it is Tony Gwynn Jr, Wise, and Escobar for Dunn..
  15. I prefer "Little League" lineup instead of forfeit.. everybody gets to play but keep your two best players in to prevent a total meltdown.
  16. Starting to think swapping Nix for Gross makes sense if he isn't sent back when Billy returns..
  17. I agree.. I originally though it was a "nasty" measurement.. like amount of break in the last 15 feet.. now that would be a better measurement in my book... I want to see the gameday pitch track with a sidearmer.. do they change the release point?
  18. The "Pitch-f/x" value is currently defined as the measurement of the distance between the location of the actual pitch thrown over the plate, and the calculated location of a ball thrown by the pitcher in the same way, with no spin; this is the value we provided in Enhanced Gameday last season as "Break". The new Break value, which we feel is more appropriate for the common understanding of the term, is defined as the measurement of the greatest distance between the trajectory of the pitch at any point between the release point and the front of home plate, and the straight line path from the release point and the front of home plate. By this definition, a Barry Zito curveball will have a much greater Break value than a Brad Penny fastball. (By the way, the "camera control" in the 3D batter area allows you to view each pitch from any of six different viewpoints, so you can see the trajectory and location of each pitch from multiple angles.)
  19. Thanks for the update... anyone willing to post a batter by batter update will receive the reward of me agreeing with every one of their posts for the next month and defending it no matter how silly.
  20. This lineup bears a striking resemblance to the one the Bucks put out trying to "win" the #1 pick. I guess Ned figures why show off when Yo will probably throw a shutout.
  21. The question of the day: Will Braun get to 100 RBI's this year? I say 55% chance of yes..
  22. I think any perceived differences is the result of this being the post all-star break versus pre-all star break. As Bill Beane likes to say the first half is for figuring out what you have as a team and the second half is for fixing what isn't working. Similar to last year with Jenkins, Ned has given the players plenty of time to work through any issues and is now attempting to "fix" things he feels are not going well. Also adding Yo and Braun to the team will make any manager look smarter.
