  1. I agree, although I'm not sure why you mess with a good thing and take Hardy out of the 8 holeTrue, but it's Ned. There is no logic. And just when you start to figure out his "logic", it changes again. Much prefer Mench and Miller hitting lower than higher in the lineup.. sounds like good logic to me... Hardy is a big boy if he can't figure out how to hit in front on Braun and Fielder he doesn't deserve to play in the majors. Part of me wishes they would put Hall in front of those two but he has been so awful lately and strikes out so much you just can't justify it.
  2. Braddock, Rogers and Jeffress in Brevard next year. The thought makes me warm and fuzzy. I'm liking Jeffress's improvements, was hoping to see the walks stay at 1,2, or 3, but I'll take a one hitter with 8 Ks and 4BB I suppose. Speaking of Rogers, didn't I read somewhere that he was going to throw (off a mound) this fall or something? Would like to hear more about that... Rogers could come back and make us not miss Inman :-) now that's warm and fuzzy. Even more warm and fuzzy.. is the first set of Triplets (Gallardo, Parra, Villy) will be all settled in Milwaukee waiting for the second set (Braddock, Jeffress, Rogers).. I know a lot of people are down on Rogers but I just have a feeling he will figure it out.
  3. Count me in for one vote for Jeffress to be our Joba Chamberlain... I am kidding of course but great to see him improve so much.. can't wait to see Braddock, Rogers, and him in Brevard County together next year.
  4. Rough night so far.. on pace for an organization O'fer.. hopefully this means the major league team breaks out against Webb. What's the book on Ferguson in West Virginia?
  5. at least Cappy is staying consistent.. give back whatever runs the Crew scores the previous inning.
  6. Reason's to hate when Brewers hit into DP: 1. They suck 2. Decreases the chances of Braun getting an extra PA to qualify for the batting title. 3. The guy after Estrada gets sick of hitting with no one on.
  7. I would have started Hart over Hall this game.. I guess that is why Ned is the manager. Go Billy!
  8. And the good contact continues in the 2nd..
  9. Maybe they should bat Hart 5th so there is somebody behind Fielder who is actually hitting this year. They can put Hall 2nd in front of Braun/Fielder to get him some fastballs to hit.
  10. I think you put Parra back in the rotation.. and then when Sheets comes back use Gallardo, Parra, and Villy in the 5th spot to watch their innings... When you make me wish for Dave Bush then it is time to move to the bullpen.
  11. If you had to put percentages on the likelihood of the following Brewers getting to 30 HR this year: Prince: 100% (duh) Braun: 70% Hart: 40% Jenkins: 20% Hardy: 10% Hall: 2%
  12. My thoughts on the prospects chances of big league success: 1. Yo Gallardo 2. Manny Parra 3. Carlos Villanueva 4. Jeremy Jeffress 5. Will Inman 6. Mark Rogers 7. Zach Braddock Now not everybody is Power 50 eligible but I considered everybody with Rookie Status and below and factored in big league stuff, current level, etc... after Braddock it is pick them in my opinion so basically to me the traded Inman for Linebrink since Parra is the lefty out of the pen I was touting Thatcher for since the beginning of the year. I can't see the criticism of trading your 5th best pitching prospects (especially when the top 3 are already performing well in the majors). I have loved Inman since he started lighting up the minors. Mostly for how he went about it. But the thing that seemed to happen when he did give up a run was it was via HR. Then when he hit AA they seemed to come 2 - 3 times a game. So I still hope he makes the majors and is successful but am concerned about the longball. The difference with the Reds GM is he traded young talent already in the majors so to make a valid comparison it would be like trading Weeks-Hart for Linebrink. With that said I welcomed well thought out, articulate opinions on the Farm Hops even if I didn't agree.
  13. I am just happy Brewers games are finally back on ESPN for us in Minnesota it is blessing even if Steve Phillips is announcing.
  14. I agree... especially with Sheets out.. Gallardo, Parra, Suppan, Capuano and Bush should be enough to get the Brewers through August and then hopefully Sheets can take the ball in September when they have to shut Yo and Manny down... They have proven with the bullpen and Weeks that performance counts so I can't see how they can live with Vargas nibbling and chewing up the bullpen much longer.
  15. I wonder if being the second Lefty will hurt Cappy today or the fact he doesn't throw 93 like Parra will help him.. Especially as they saw Turnbow and Cordero earlier..
  16. With all the whining thank goodness we live in the Cheese State..
  17. A single by Pujols there is a win... I had scary visions of a 450 ft. homerun...
  18. Graffy.. JJ.. Hart sound like runs to me..
  19. I think he needs about a week off to get re-charged.. Of course who knows if that is possible with the Cubs so close...
  20. Nice problem to have 8 starting pitchers... Hope Elmer enjoys his championship ring.. AAA championship ring that is.
  21. Is it possible for two separate cards pitchers to throw 100 pitches in one game..
  22. Apparently Falkenberg will be today's sacrificial lamb..
  23. Damian's offense has been a pleasant surprise.. with his age I thought he might regress to Moeller territory this year. I still don't think they will pick up his option but with Salome suspended I could see them bringing him back for the minimum.
  24. Parra must be Vargas spelled backward.
  25. Also good to remember that Hart and Weeks didn't play a full season last week.. The one problem with having such a young team (hitting & pitching) is that they have little experience for 162 games. The good news is that young teams will get better while older teams (i.e. Cubs/Cardinals) will regress..
