  1. I am just saying I think Trebelhorn and Lopes are still available to manage.. I will take Ned... I am sure quite a few Brewers fans would have traded him for Pinella before the season.. maybe even still.
  2. Well 8th doesn't really make sense with Weeks out does it? I mean he is Barry Bonds compare to Graffy and Counsell.... When Weeks is back it would be nice to see Weeks hit 5th followed by Jenkins and Hall and then Estrada.. that would be a seek lineup.. Weeks is used to hitting with the bases empty..
  3. That's just absurd. I agree PeaveyFury.. what has Yost done wrong tonight.. - Started his #4 pitcher.. - Put together a lineup that has loaded the bases twice in two innings.. I am not a fan of Estrada batting 5th but it is not like the guys behind him are extremely hot... this team could go 162-0 and some people who complain they got too hot... but I guess it takes all kinds to make the world interesting.
  4. Yep.. good teams bury teams like the cubs.. Brewers still need to learn quite a bit.. Marquis at 44 pitches.. if Estrada and Bush go up there without a bat he is probably at 60 right now..
  5. This is where you tell Bush to take a huge uppercut and swing for the fences.. strikeout wouldn't be the worse thing. Especially after last inning..
  6. I like how Braun usually takes the first pitch.. nothing wrong with being aggressive but rare for a young player to show patience.
  7. This is where a good team takes a team the is struggling and just buries them with 4 or 5 runs.. last year in this situation the Brewers would let them hang around and give them hope... hopefully this year's team shows no mercy..
  8. You know the first 3 hitters are going to see some fastballs so Smoltz doesn't have to face Ryan Howard.. I mean Prince Fielder... Watch out Barry... Prince is coming for you.
  9. yahoo is not working.. someone give me a score/hit update? Living in this god forsaken state Minnesota I have tried all the game trackers and recommend Gameday on MLB.com or milwaukeebrewers.com.. especially when they are at Dodger stadium..
  10. It is nice having athletes on the team... even better they have a few baseball skills.. By the way I haven't checked Baseball-Reference.com but I don't think Sheets is a very good hitter http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Parra 4.0 3 0 0 2 7 0 3.02 Folks meet your LOOGY for the playoff drive..
  12. So you definitely telling me I need to send beer then? Ok just let me know the address.. if I send the case can I be the Brewerfan.net Racing Sausage?
  13. Just think if they had a hot Weeks and Hall around them.. wouldn't that make some must see TV all summer... Disclaimer: Above comment is not meant to rain on Fielder's homerun parade but more wishful thinking on how cool June - September could be.
  14. How does someone get upgraded from member? Do you have to mail beer somewhere? Do you get to pick your titles? Can I be Brewerfan.net Guru? Or Brewerfan.net Evangelist?
  15. Glad nobody jumped the first inning.... now put down the sleeping pills and we will get through this together..
  16. My favorite thing about Braun and Fielder hitting back to back is how they both look like that want to absolutely kill the ball each at bat.
  17. Don't look now but Sheets ERA back under 4... It is always a good sign when your ace's ERA becomes less than double what Spurling's is...
  18. People have been all over Hall this year but you have not heard nearly as much on Weeks... and Weeks has never put together a solid string of major league offense.. this guy was supposed to be the next Joe Morgan.. I know he is still young but at some point doesn't he have to go on a tear or risk being called overrated?
  19. One of these days we're gonna catch a break, right? I have been saying that for 2 weeks... even now look who is up after Hart strikes out.. Finally someone comes through in the clutch..
  20. Come on Billy bust out... I am hungry for some crow... actually I haven't been to hard on him except frustration with try to pull every outside pitch... Reminds me when Maddux used to own him his first couple of years.
  21. Sheets really doesn't like the first two hitters tonight.. they are killing him... If he can get through the next inning I think it will be shut down the rest of the way.. though with the pitches he has burned it might only be 6 or 7 tonight..
  22. Come in off the ledge.. it will be fine.. 3-2 when smoltz leaves and 4-3 to end the game. Sheets always needs to warm-up...they should make him pitch with a parka.. One question though since he has shown an inability to learn a change-up why hasn't he tried to learn the cutter from Maddux to give him a third pitch?
  23. It really annoys me now that I have read multiple articles saying the reason for the Brewers success is high draft picks. Last time I looked they drafted high pretty much every year in the last 2 decades and very few have worked out until Jack Z. Antone Williamson anyone? Plus people talk about the Braun pick as no-brainer but there were a lot of questions on him being picked there. The only high pick in hindsight you can question I think is Mike Jones who never has looked dominant even before he was injured. At least Rogers has shown what he is capable of IF healthy and consistent. If you took the top 3 rounds over the years the Jack Z has run the draft and compare his % of hits I am sure it is highest in the majors over that time.
  24. Right now outside of Jenkins you can put the rest of the OF's in a hat and pick two and do about the same.. Though I agree that Hall an Hart have the most upside so everything else being equal they should play. I am a Yost fan but sometimes I think he thinks this is little league and everybody needs to "participate".. after the Braun call-up we should not have seen Counsell or Graffy off the bench except to pinch-hit for at least 2 weeks..
  25. 1b - Fielder 2b - Weeks SS - Hardy 3B- Braun CF - Hall RF - Gwynn P - Hart... The future has arrived..
