  1. On a 88 mph chest high fastball.. not to mention a 87 and 88 mph fastballs down the middle for strike 1 and 2.. give those 3 pitches to Braun and he might hit two them out.
  2. Hard to believe after the first couple of innings that Owings lasted longer than Yo today.
  3. This is also a good reason to cut the cord with Julio.. I don't think anyone trusts him a game with less than a 6 run lead. Would much rather have Dillard up as the mop up guy. I would trust him today to give us an inning to help out the rest of the pen.
  4. Actually I met Difelice but for some reason type Stetter.. He is a 91 through 5 with the bottom of the lineup coming up so I would let him go 1 more as well unless he comes up here with bases loaded and 2 out or something.
  5. Yes.. after 5 I say give him the rest of the day off.. Coffey for 1 Stetter for 2 and Villy for 1 or 2 if Hoffman is not needed.
  6. Nice to see Gamel hit.. some production at 3B would be nice.
  7. Cameron says.. "Yo.. I cost you one.. here is 2 as a present"
  8. Yo needs to get a little more economical for a couple of innings (56 pitches through 3) but it would help if Cameron would catch a ball.
  9. I am a fan of pinch hitting for the Kendall and the Pitcher in that situation. We brought Gamel up why not use him.. He most likely gets a hit, K's, or hits a deep fly to right so either way you are not worse off and then have counsell up next.
  10. Best thing about Hoffman over Gagne: he actually saves ball games Second best thing.. he touches himself about 10 times less each pitch so I don't feel like I need a shower after the game.
  11. Gamel swung right through a 87 mile changeup right down the middle for strike 2.. fouled off a tough 96 mph two seamer.. laid off a good changeup outside and swung through the same 96 mph two seamer he fouled off 2 pitches before.
  12. Look like Hoffman is coming in.. we will see Gamel.. why is Kendall hitting for Rivera?
  13. Well it is moo point now but considering the Brewers starter have gone 7, 6, 6, 6, 6, and 7 the last 6 games and there was an off day pretty safe letting the bullpen go 2 though I might let McClung close the 9th or let Defelice go 2 to save Villy and Hoffman for St. Louis
  14. Do you think they bring him out for the 8th with only 97 pitches. I think I would do it and then pull him if he gives up a walk, a hit or warning track flyball. It would be nice to have a completely rested pen heading into the road trip. Defelice is pretty rested so I think I would go there.. Bush has a history of tiring quickly but you are right nice to have everybody rested before St. Louis.. at the very least we know that Julio is well rested
  15. On a personal side note.. working from home with Extra Innings is awesome..
  16. Yeah, they are doing a nice job. I think this is the only time I've watched a Florida telecast and if this is what they are normally like, I approve. I was just going to post on this. They seem to call it like a fan without worrying about being homers or sucking up to the players. Last K was a good example. Instead of being like Rock and complaining the pitch was a ball they basically said "If the ump just called a couple of strikes on that same pitch you have to swing with 2 strikes"
  17. Was going to post that I would have given Gamel an at bat there and then brought in McClung or Defelice for 2 but they score one anyway but would have liked to put it away there.
  18. On the Hardy play: Bonafaccio caught it right on 3rd and stepped on the bag and could have underhanded it to first but threw it about 20 feet to the left. Hardy came all the way around to score and may have been out but the throw home was wide and went to the pitcher behind the catcher. The real question there is how Braun didn't get to third. Looked like he was dogging it out of the box and then around first. On the Ramirez play: Play was deep to righ field at the track and when Duffy threw it in Weeks, not Hardy, who just flat out dropped it and couldn't pick it up in time to throw out Ramirez at home. Also earlier in the game Fielder dove to snare a grounder exactly like yesterday when it popped out of his glove but this time it stayed in.
  19. Stupid rover... too bad weeks wasn't on 3b on Hardy's fly ball so they couldn't play the shift..
  20. As good as Rickie has been.. you just new he was going to K on the curveball
  21. David Patton = Sacrificial Lamb Jorge Julio = Brewers "Closer" Tonight
