Blair would've been a great second 2nd round pick, or second 1st round pick. He's had bad knees since high school, and he never missed a game or practice all throughout then and in college. He's a tough son-of-a-gun, and has plenty to prove in the NBA. The Spurs got another steal, and right now, they're my favorites to win the West. I predict a San Antonio-Cleveland/Orlando final.
Hmm....McGehee in the 5 hole? Might as well...he's about the hottest Brewer other than Prince or Brauny. Not exactly the protection Prince is looking for, but it'll do for now.
UPDATE: Now Lou Piniella is defending his young catcher by admitting he, too, once tried pot. Story EDIT: One of the comments on the story at ESPN.com caught my eye. "Can't we all just get a bong? Enough said...." I had a good laugh at that.
I still think McNeal was better than at least half of those European "project" players. I was shocked that teams began taking them in the late first round, and some of the bigger names (Blair, Sam Young, Budinger, just to name a few) remained on the board going into the second round.
He hasn't chosen yet. He's down to those 3 schools. Also, if Minnesota has a team, I think Wisconsin could handle playing baseball in the late winter/early spring. As for the scholorships, once again, if other teams can work with it, then so should the Badgers.
And Blair has been taken by the Spurs.... No worries...plenty of options available. There's Mills, Meeks, McClinton, McNeal, Budinger, Green, and probably more. EDIT: Lovely pick with Meeks. Possible heir to Michael Redd's throne?
Yeah, Lawson will be going to Denver. The Wolves also drafted ANOTHER guard in Wayne Ellington. I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded as well, and they just keep Rubio and Flynn. They either didn't find anyone to take the picks, or they simply drafted Lawson and Ellington for other teams and will then trade them.
Wow, I can't believe the Wolves drafted 3 PG's... EDIT: Ah, they just explained he won't be staying with the team, he'll be headed to the Nuggets for a future pick.
That's exactly why I wanted Holliday over Jennings. Sessions can handle the offense while Holliday handles the defense. We don't need 2 offensive PG's.
How could you like someone more for doing something illegal? That's similar to liking someone for robbing a bank. This is what I don't understand....athletes get caught doing drugs, and they get away with it (or at least receive a much less strict punishment). If any other guy were to get caught smoking marijuana, they'd be arrested. It's simply not fair.
That was a bid odd...they cut to the Milwaukee Bucks background after the announced the Phoenix pick. For a split second I thought the Bucks actually made a trade for another pick, but it was just to announce that Jennings was there. Once again, the pick wasn't terrible but I just think there was a better option. I guess I overreacted just a bit.
It was a good pick. Though I like Holiday better he is a better defensive PG than Jennings but it is not a bad pick. Jennings and Holiday are the two players I was thinking the Bucks were going to take. I really thought for awhile there when Holiday started to fall that it was going to be Holiday and not Jennings.I know, it's not a horrible pick, but I thought it was a lock that once Holliday fell to the Bucks that we'd take him. Even the guys on ESPN said Jennings would be a "project player". It's too bad we didn't have another 1st rounder so we could get Blair. I don't think McNeal will be necessary in the 2nd round, so I wouldn't be surprised if they pick a guy nobody's every heard of.
Looks like the pick for the Bucks will be Holliday. Not so surprising so far, other than the fact Curry was taken by....Golden State?! I'm sure Knicks fans are thrilled about that. They didn't get too bad of a consolation prize in Hill, though.
