    This is more meant for Fmylife.com (for those of you who aren't familiar with it, it's a website where people can post their stories of bad things that are happening or have happened recently in their life), but I guess I'm looking for as much support as I can get right now... On my way to work this afternoon, I noticed my radio had been stolen from my car and the entire center dashboard of my car (at least the part where the air conditioning, heat, etc. is) was ripped apart. I called my insurance company, and I only have liability on the car. I'm 16, I live with just my mother, and we're both struggling just to pay the bills we have. FML

    I thought I just heard Telly say, "The newest member of the Braves, Felipe Lopez." Also, I'd just like to say that when Vazquez stuck Fielder out....it gave me goosebumps. That's how badly I would like him on the team. Sadly, though....it's unlikely to happen.

    Randy Wolf is the only other name I think we could've signed. He comes somewhat cheap (1 yr, 5 mil) and is having a good year for LA. Right now, he'd be the #2 start behind Yo.

    Everybody knows what the offense can do. It's just inconsistent. The pitching, both bullpen AND rotation needs help. The rotation is comprised of Gallardo, and then 4 guys who have ERA's above 4. A team cannot enter the playoffs with Looper, Bush, Suppan, Burns, and Parra. McClung is in a funk, and Villy has been inconsistent this year, too. Otherwise, Stetter, DiFelice, Coffey, and Hoffman have been very pleasant to watch. The 3 H's (Hall, Hart, Hardy) have unperformed this season. Cameron was looking great, but then tailed off. Weeks' injury was a major buzzkill. McGehee stepped up huge, and looks like he belongs on the team. Lopez has looked good in the 2 games he's played with the Crew, and was MUCH needed for the lineup. Counsell has done his part as veteran UTIL infielder. The bench needs a huge upgrade, as well. Gerut has done absolutely nothing since the trade. Rivera plays once every blue moon. The Cat has been decent, but nothing worth being excited over. I don't like hearing all the negativity about how "we need to be sellers because this team just isn't good enough." I agree the team isn't playing good right now, but what's saying we can't have another month like May? If we can make another huge trade before the deadline, or even a couple of smaller trades, either way they should improve the team somehow. We need guys in the rotation, the bullpen, and for the bench. If we have to spend or take on a little extra money to get these spots filled, then so be it. All I know is people don't want to be paying to see an average team in September while the Cubs or Cardinals are fighting over the division.

    Am I mistaken, or are people claiming the game is over before the 5th inning? It's a 3-run game. Get a hold of yourselves.

    Someone check that Garrett Jones for 'roids. At least all of his HR's have been solo shots. Really disappointing how this game is turning out so far...I put my personal best 9-game Streak to the Cash win streak on the line...hope the Crew can turn things around here quick.

    PTBNL, possibly? I must say, it'll be sad to not see the LaRoche brothers on the same team. Had to figure a Pittsburgh trade was coming, and considering Adam LaRoche was one of the best players on the team, it continues the trend of the Bucs being just a basket from other teams to pick talent from. EDIT: ESPN.com posts that the Pirates will receive minor league shortstop Argenis Diaz and one other prospect in return. Obviously a move for next season, as Sanchez and Wilson will both be gone.

    True. You guys make some good points. I can't believe it's already the 7th inning. Talk about pitching battle...*knock on wood*

    Within the past couple weeks, this Garrett Jones fella has been tearing it up in Pittsburgh. 8 HR's in 15 games....but only 10 RBI's. All of his HR's have been solo shots. It's still good enough for 2nd or 3rd among NL Rookies, and he's only played 2 weeks worth of games. I'd keep an eye out for this guy... Also, Tommy Hanson has looked pretty nice in his last couple starts. I think he could possibly be the front runner as of now.

    I don't think you can look at it that way. If Lopez stays on third, you can't assume that the same result occurs.I was basing it off the fact that if Lopez stayed at 3rd, and Counsell at 2nd, then Braun would've made the second out at first and not Lopez at home. Therefore, Prince would've had guys on 2nd and 3rd instead of 1st and 3rd. Seeing as he got a base hit (it's a pretty safe bet to assume he gets one anyway, considering his RBI total and batting average) it could've been 2-0.

    Congrats to Craig for just hitting his 200th career double. That's, like, equal to 100 HR's, right?

    Didn't see this posted anywhere, so I thought I'd do so. This could possibly be a setup for the Orioles to trade either Danys Baez or George Sherrill. Story EDIT: Saw this trade happened on Sunday, and was mentioned in one of the threads proposing a deal for Sherrill in the Trade Rumors forum. Still figure it's a good idea to keep this up, though.

    That's what I figured as well. You almost have to feel sorry for these athletes who have boat loads of money. Or wait.... Seriously, though. It must suck having to worry about these jerks that are constantly looking to get money out of you. Autographs are one thing, but suing someone for something that either never happened or isn't serious just isn't right. Then again, you don't exactly have to be an athlete to worry about these kind of people.

    There are a ton of articles on Deadspin about the Erin Andrews scandal and according to one of them, the video had been posted on the internet back in February and was available to find through Google search. I have a hard time believing that, however, as if it was EA then it would make some major headlines. I was going to start a thread about this last night when I saw it on Yahoo's front page, but I didn't figure it would be appropriate.

    hmm...hopefully it'll be on baseball tonight. Yay for Counsell making it so the Pirates hadn't quadrupled our run total. YAY for Braun to make it a save situation for Capps now. Maybe a slumpbuster for him? who knows.... EDIT: Oh, it was the 9th....shows how much I paid attention to this game...
