  1. After reading the Brewers blog I had to go look up the numbers because I was still angry about the Aquino move: Aquino's Stats vs. RHB: Career (over 292 PA): .282 BAA, .372 OBA, .548 SLG, .920 OPS Season: .250 BAA, .350 OBA, .438 SLG, .788 OPS Shouse's Stats vs. RHB: Career (over 548 PA): .303 BAA, .389 OBA, .451 SLG, .840 OPS Season: .253 BAA, .323 OBA, .289 SLG, .612 OPS Cordero's Stats vs. RHB: Career (over 1096 PA): .235 BAA, .289 OBA, .351 SLG, .640 OPS Season: .221 BAA, .248 OBA, .301 SLG, .549 OPS Spurling's Stats vs. RHB: Career (over 511 PA): .240 BAA, .281 OBA, .385 SLG, .666 OPS Season: .293 BAA, .327 OBA, .424 SLG, .751 OPS Capuano's Stats vs. RHB: Career (over 2442 PA): .274 BAA, .341 OBA, .478 SLG, .819 OPS Season: .293 BAA, .356 OBA, .491 SLG, .846 OPS Wise's Stats vs. RHB: Career (over 709 PA): .254 BAA, .321 OBA, .428 SLG, .749 OPS Season: .271 BAA, .310 OBA, .419 SLG, .728 OPS Obviously some of the season stats are extremely small samples (especially Aquino), but Aquino and Shouse are basically interchangeable as to what they do against RHB, except batters hit for much more power against Aquino than Shouse. Cordero is hands down better than any option we had, and he sat in the bullpen with the tying run on base. Inexcusable.
  2. I'd heard/read we Spurling a Sept 1st call up to accept his demotion earlier this month, and they probably wanted to "reward" Aquino for not completely sucking in AAA. I definitely think having all the relievers we can get at this point would be beneficial, so I don't really see why he isn't up. And with Miller being down for a couple of days, I wish they'd bring up Rivera, too. I know he's hitting near the mendoza line, but he did pretty well for us last year and would definitely be a defensive upgrade.
  3. Wow. Ballgame. I agree totally it is a slap in the face to anyone with the internet.
  4. I remember people used to complain about Chad Moeller's defense, I was bored and looked up Moeller's numbers... Estrada's are right around his, if not a little worse http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  5. Even my AC can't cool me down after this loss. This is the straw that breaks the camels back for me. I like Ned Yost as a person and I appreciate what he has done for our organization in turning it around from the mess which was the Lopes-Royster era, but the man has got to go. If this were a team not in contention, it's fine if he's trying to build confidence in McClung, Aquino, etc. That's what Ned is good for, he's good at pumping up scrappy kids. What he sucks at is hurting people's feelings and putting in the guy who gives us a best chance to win until its too late. It happened with Mench last week. It has happened a lot with him being late to pull the trigger on pulling a guy. It happened with Moeller and Jenkins last year. He has a track record of this kind of stuff. If we want to be a contending team, we need a manager who will play the percentages and give us the best chance to win instead of playing the percentages and trying to build guys up while doing it. When we hired Yost he was a great manager because that's what he had to do, pump up scrappy guys like Brady Clark, Matt Wise, Brooks Kieschnick, and John Vander Wal and squeeze every bit of talent he could out of them. Now when we have a closer who is second in the league in saves we instead turn to Aquino, a scrappy guy who he was trying to pump up.
  6. Ned complaining about how does he win on putting in Aquino or keeping in Shouse... Here is a genius idea Ned, use your closer! Use Wise! Don't use a guy who got sent down for choking in the clutch earlier this year against the Astros. How about that? http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/6285/toastrb6.jpg
  7. Estrada owes Sheets a pizza for not allowing Pence to steal another base on him, lol.
  8. Knuckleball, curveball, rosin bag, it doesn't matter, throw it up there on the first pitch and Estrada will swing at it. lol
  9. It's good to see you got Berkman in there, too. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif That's some good mojo for Sheets. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/laugh.gif
  10. http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/1443/igt93ib7.jpg This is the kind of thing that happens when I'm up at 8am for no good reason on a day off. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/roll.gif TV: FSN Radio: WTMJ 620 & affiliates Other NL Central Games: Mets (Martinez) vs. Reds (Harang), 12:15pm Pirates (Maholm) vs. Cardinals (Wells), 1:15pm Dodgers (Loaiza) vs. Cubs (Zambrano), 3:05pm
  11. Did Kevin Mench really just steal a base? lol
  12. That was a nice AB from Weeks, even though it ended in a K. I hate the shadows during day games, lol.
  13. Lineup: 2B Rickie Weeks SS J.J. Hardy 3B Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Corey Hart LF Kevin Mench C Damian Miller CF Bill Hall RHP Jeff Suppan
  14. Last night's game still aggravates me. This morning I saw an argument (not on this site, another place I read about Brewers stuff) defending Mench that was "well he did drive in two of our runs." My counterpoint to that is he did it against a left hander. He's supposed to do that against lefties. That would be like someone defending Yost for leaving Shouse in the game to face Aramis Ramirez in a similar situation because he struck out Mike Fontenot. Sure, the move may work out in our favor, but it definitely doesn't give us our best chance to win. and Brian, that macro will most assuredly cause giant lol's. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/roll.gif Also, I was too caught up in the game drama, and I went to look at when the Cubs play today and completely forgot with that loss last night we're back under .500 http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/mad.gif.
  15. Every time I think of Ned sending Mench up there to bat in the 9th I laugh, but I think that is only because if I don't laugh I might throw my bobbleheads through the TV http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif, lol.
  16. Thanks to you I have a new avatar. That is ridiculous. I was going to keep sad Cappy until he won another game, but that icon was getting too depressing and, well, who knows when Cappy will win again, LOL.
  17. Phew. I was starting to get nervous. Come on Cappy, get out of this inning clean. My bobblehead mojo is working! (I placed my Cappy bobbles ontop of my TV lol)
  18. Parra bats and then gets pulled? Yay. Chris, this is your chance. You pick up a W tonight, I change my av. You don't, I keep it until you do get a W. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. Cubs fans are complaining about our bloop singles. LOL Come on JJ, lets get this lead back!
  20. Still not forgiven, Corey. You need to create runs, but thanks for that.
  21. Defense strikes again. Are they really going to call that a double?? REALLY?
  22. Alright Manny, good start to the game!
  23. I'm kind of disappointed we couldn't break it open right there and get a nice 3-4 run lead, but hey I'll take 2. Hopefully Parra pitches well.
