  1. I was going to mention the resume piece with RA too, but as a business major the study abroad experience may be just as beneficial to you to put down as the RA experience. I'd go study abroad.
  2. He should have been like Richard Hamilton and gotten paid to wear his cornrows like tire treads. This is sad, but unfortunately fairly common among athletes these days.
  3. I have Call of Duty 4, it is a fun game. I suck at FPS games, but this game makes you better at it and is fun. Multiplayer modes are pretty cool, too.
  4. I think Jason Kendall will be the biggest disappointment this year, which is saying something considering most people aren't expecting much out of him anyway. I expect Kendall to hit right around .230-.250, his OBP may be in the .320-.340 range but he's not going to throw out a lot of runners and people will run on him just as much as they did Estrada. Other than Kendall, I think Villanueva may have a down year from what the expectations for him will be. I hope I'm wrong on that as I like CV.
  5. Homer Bailey should take out an insurance policy on his arm. lol.
  6. That warms my heart... and that's so sad. LOL
  7. When Michael drove into the lake that was awesome. Great laughs. Dwight and Angela made for some good TV, too. I am on the Pam > Karen side. It is a no contest. Karen did wear way too much makeup.
  8. One of my favorite Jenkins moments was the game he had in San Diego (5/30/05) where he made a bunch of nice catches in RF. I'll always remember Jenks as an awesome outfielder who wasn't afraid to give up his body to try and catch a ball. It took me like an hour, but I found the video of that game: http://www.mlb.com/multimedia/tp_archive.jsp?c_id=mil&ym=200505
  9. Jenkins has always been one of my favorite Brewers. I will definitely be sad to see him go. I was glad to see him get that last standing O.
  10. It is too bad we can't enter X amount of coins to continue, lol. I have to work today, so I won't be able to watch. The season would feel like an even bigger failure if we don't even win 82 games, so I do hope we get one today or tomorrow.
  11. I like the graphics, Woogie! Thanks for the hard work this year. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Win it for Cappy!
  12. I guess maybe there is something to that "pitching and defense wins championships" theory. Our defense has been sub-par all year, and the middle of our bullpen has stunk up the joint in the second half. That's a recipe for disaster.
  13. A chance for our first winning season in forever, Yovani Gallardo on the mound, a chance to only be one back with the Reds throwing their best 3 pitchers this weekend. Gotta get it done boys. The door is unlocked, you gotta go through it.
  14. Our lineup: 2B Rickie Weeks SS J.J. Hardy 3B Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Corey Hart LF Geoff Jenkins CF Bill Hall C Damian Miller RHP Yovani Gallardo
  15. I take the blame for stealing your thunder on that in the Wednesday game thread. I should have known better than to mess with superstition. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/frown.gif
  16. Couldn't the doctors schedule his surgery for next Monday, I think this upsets the competitive balance of the game. lol. The pitching matchups for that series will be Hill-Arroyo, Z-Harang, and Lilly-Bailey. I feel decently optimistic about those.
  17. It's a conspiracy! I want to see an outfield of Hopper, Hamilton, and Votto this weekend. Dust off Hatteberg and let him play, lol.
  18. My choices would be: Hart, Dillon (LHP), Counsell (RHP). Like someone said, if it is Prince or Braun they probably end up being walked.
  19. Rickie has gotten his power stroke back recently!
  20. Another day, another FSN-HD game. This time it is Jeff Suppan (10-12, 4.72) against Braden Looper (12-11, 4.67). We got to Wainwright, lets give Looper the same treatment. Keep the heat on those scurvy Cubs!
  21. I've grown to like BA. It is kind of funny to listen to Daron now and see how over the top he is in comparison to BA. I really enjoyed Daron when he was here, but I think BA and Bill have a better relationship and work off of each other a lot better than Daron and Bill did. I don't find myself missing Daron at all, which I guess says something in itself.
  22. For some reason that whole "I didn't say I was going to be stupid" comment rubbed me the wrong way. I would say some of the things Yost has done this season have been stupid. I have no statistics to back this up, but it is purely my own opinion. I'd think it would be easier for a borderline guy (eg: Spurling, Aquino, McClung, etc.) to pitch with a lead late in a game than to pitch when the game is tied and they might feel like they have to be "perfect" to not lose the game. It might not make that much of a difference in the way they pitch, but it has to add a little bit of pressure on the home team, knowing they would be down to their last 3 outs. Also, as far as confidence goes, by using your best reliever first you are giving your offense a chance and telling them you believe in them by virtually saying "we're going to hold this game, now get us the lead." Obviously every situation doesn't call for using your closer before a save situation, but I think facing the heart of the Astros order is a situation that would definitely call for it.
  23. Lefty, righty matchups would be my guess. Definitely. The Nix decision annoyed me more than the Gwynn decision, but eh. Like I said earlier, this one wasn't really on Yost.
  24. Yost PH Mench for Jenkins, Cox brought in Yates. Yost used Gwynn instead of Hall, Counsell, Estrada, or Rivera. Then Lanyce Nix pinch hit for Miller, leaving Hall, Counsell, Estrada, and Rivera on the bench. Gotta love our manager. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/happy.gif
  25. I know Bill Hall was awful in August and has played sparingly in September, but the fact he nor Counsell got an at bat while Gwynn and Nix did is a slap in the face to everything he's done this year. Can't blame Yost for the loss because the offense didn't show up, but it was disappointing to see Hall, Counsell and Rivera rot on the bench while Gwynn and Nix were taking AB's.
