    I have to tip my cap to Bud black. I think he realizes the top of the order could really rake Hoffman so he is going to Linebrink here. With Linebrink, make him throw strike one and not be overaggressive early in the count.

    I didn't want to revert to this but...Cards lost to DC, Stros down 4-1, Cubs down 3-0. It just makes me fell better.

    I tried to use reverse psychology on Billy-didn't work. He still can't hit a ball hard unless Brewers are down by 4-plus runs.

    Guys- Today has been a positive one. We are just getting some tough breaks. I am for calling a spade a spade and we could be winning this game if things were reversed. I still fell we have a big inning against Maddux. It may be here. Maybe Billy can do something?

    Rydogg, Thanks for noticing. I think "sucks" is a tough word though. I really do like Bill Hall and I hope he does well and had drinks with him at G Jenks BDay (Velvet Room) party a couple years when he first came up and he is a great guy. I just think there is something wrong and his confidence may be a bit shot.

    Bill Hall with no doubt has been the single biggest disappointment for the Brewers this year. It will be June next week and I am sick of hearing how he will get "hot."

    Against Maddux you do not try to work the count. The best pitches with him are usually early in the count when he is trying to get ahead. Otherwise, I would agree with you.

    He would top off as a #4 starter, but I see him more as a #5 or long reliever that eventually would become a LOOGY. That is still a pretty solid thing to have in your bank though.

    We played hard and you lose some of those. The big play was the early double play that Hall hit into with runners on the corners. I definitely think that made a big difference. Hopefully Sheets will be OK. It didn't look like he had anything on his hand.

    Braun will get called up for Interleague play at American League BP and will be past the Super Two Threshold.

    On a good note. The Giants just jumped up on Houston 4-2.

    .263 OBP for Mench and falling. And he is really only playing against lefties now. It is really disheartening. We needed that hit there with the good Dodger pen sure to come in now.
