  1. Well that makes me feel a little better. Let's put it together this inning, boys!
  2. Two crazy hard hit balls for three outs in this inning. Macha's teams tend to get better in the second half, right? Maybe that's when the good luck will kick in.
  3. Wow, shocker. A walked in run. Haven't seen that this season.
  4. The one nice thing about the trade is that is does thin out the bullpen that has been showing some cracks of late.
  5. I'm not in the Gamel needs to play every single camp, but Hall has not earned the right to start against anyone right now.
  6. I was at the Cards-Twins game last night. It was quite enjoyable to watch the Twins do St. Louis like they did the Crew the past couple days, see the Brewers keep the Giants at Bay on the out of town scoreboard and be able to cheer on Joe Nathan as he helped the Brewers climb back into first.
  7. Baffling. I seriously think this franchise is hexed. Teddy Higuera, Juan Nieves, Cal Eldred, Nick Neugebauer, Ben Sheets, Mark Rogers, Jeffers and I know I'm missing many other great pitchers who go down one way or another. I will now go slam my head in the door until I wake up a Red Sox or Yankees fan. EDIT: Worst part of all of this. He pretty much has worn out his welcome with the Crew. He will be traded or released and figure it out with somebody else. Back to working on my concussion.
  8. How many big name college guys actually like those three actually make it in the league? And look at how many former foreign project guys played key roles for the contenders this season. Isn't one of the best players on the Bucks one of those bigger named College players? I think he went to Ohio State, yet got drafted in the second round. How about Shawn Respert, Tyus Edney, J.J. Reddick, Calbert Chane, Dee Brown, Sean May ... The point is that just because you know the guy's name doesn't automatically make him an NBA player. As said many times by people talking about Jennings, some of the top Euro leagues have higher levels of competition and are better development training grounds than NCAA programs.

  10. I don't know if this would work for you, but I've only heard good, second-hand reviews of the Jitterbug. They are specifically designed for folks like your dad. http://reviews.cnet.com/cell-phones/samsung-jitterbug-j-white/4505-6454_7-33667292.html
  11. He's undersized at his position and was a streaky shooter. I don't understand why people find this so surprising. I could still see him sticking in the league, tho. I like him, but I can see why GMs didn't want to use a pick on him.
  12. Is the strike zone as crazy as gameday is making it look?
  13. Heard TH on the Dlist and Macha said that he started McGehee because RHers are actually hitting Baker better than LHers. Just be thankful it's not Bill Hall out there.
  14. Witardo's blog said Macha wanted to get his No. 1 PH back into the feel of things after six straight games of DHs.
  15. Silver lining on the dark cloud of this series thus far: I'm finally seeing what everyone was talking about when Gamel came up. Hopefully he sticks and keeps hitting.
  16. Nope. He doesn't have any control of his pitches except his fastball. This will be another bad game for the Crew.
  17. Everyone is just sitting on his fastball right now. It's last night all over again.
  18. I agree with X. The other thing is it seems like jack Z couldn't hold the "He's gonna be a Type A free agent" thing over the Brewers' heads. according to MLB Trade Rumors projections, he's not even a borderline Type A in the AL right now, so even if they kept him they would only get B compensation. Of course, a lot can change between now and the end of the season. But it's interesting to see that players such as Guerrero, Beltre, and Lackey are no locks for Type A. Wondering about Erik Bedard? He has 69.259 of 100 points, while the lowest Type A American League starter has a 74.815 score. He's in the middle of the AL Type B starting pitchers at the moment. But if Bedard is traded to an NL club, he'll be ranked with that league's starters. As an FYI, Hoffman is ranked a type A right now and Cameron is a type B.
  19. All of the damage are on changeups in the middle of the plate. Sigh.
  20. Dusty ryan? Really? Geez, I thought Looper was going to be a lot better than this.
  21. Yeah, maybe I'm wrong pretnedastronaut. I think the film stock of the first one coupled with the guy who moves through the frame and the pan to crowd reaction (all ways fake viral videos try to seem "real") threw me off a little too.
  22. Kendall says: "Well, if the rest of you are going to start hitting again ..."
