Think the lede to Hardicourt's story will feature Mike Rivera. Wow, what a game.
  2. sargennm
Because the gulf between him and Kendall defensively is about a wide as the Grand Canyon.
  3. sargennm
Just drive a pitch to the outfield here Billy.
  4. sargennm
    Prince smash time.

    Nice job Benny!

    Lower back tightness. Whew!
  7. sargennm
Um, Kapler's gonna bat for Braun? Not good.

Sadly, I squealed like a little girl when I read this. I hope you are correct. He certainly has seemed to keep it together really well this season.

This coming from a fanbase that cheers for Albert "I stand in the batters box until the fans throw the ball back on the field after my home runs before providing the most disdainful batflip in baseball. Then I run." Pujols I've seen that brought up. But it's kind of like telling a certain segment of Packer fans that Brett Favre might not be God in a jersey. Except worse.

Or not, geez, Blanco is hitting .291? Aw, well. Let's gain some ground brew crew!
  11. sargennm
You've got to walk Fukudome here to get to the ground ball machine that is Blanco.

It's a good thing he have the ban hammer and the riot squad in here. Guess who's starting at third again? 2B Rickie Weeks SS JJ Hardy LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Corey Hart 3B Craig Counsell CF Mike Cameron C Jason Kendall P CC Sabathia

Found this on a the Post-Dispatch forums as someone's sig. It will be interesting if the Cardinals hold the same grudge part of their fan base does. Every time I look over there, there is some discussion about Braun and Hall. http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff333/timolszewski/drillbill.jpg

Wow, Marmol vs. Puljos in the 7th. This should be good.

Afternoon game on Friday, night game on Sunday. Gotta love Cubs baseball!
  16. sargennm
Some might say, that combined with the dreadful home stand before this that it's a "must win."
  17. sargennm
We've got CC going. That's more than enough.

very cool enjoy the afternoon and hopefully a cards loss You picked a great day to be at Busch, Caballo. If you haven't already, try at Bratzel. The brat part is not up to Milwaukee standards but the combination of brat and soft pretzel is delicious.

That's the big point here. The Brewers have the kind of schedule for the rest of the season that if they take care of business until the last weekend, they might actually have a lead over the Cubs for the division title. That being said, I still love seeing the Cubs lose, so I'll be a Cards fan this weekend.

Gabe Gross with the two-run shot to tie it in the ninth. Does he deserve one of the Cris Carter-esque monikers. "Gabe Gross? All he does is hit 9th inning HRs."
  21. sargennm
True, I'll be extremely happy with the Wild Card. ... But it's still more fun to see the Cubs lose. I just watched the Soriano HR, seriously, I hate them.

Ladies and gentelemen that's a 4-2 road trip. Consider me tickled pink. Hopefully we can turn around the mojo at home and get Sheets and Parra back on the winning track.
  23. sargennm
I don't know about you, but I saw it coming. Same with Weeks four-hit day.
  24. sargennm
Nice job Braunie. Keep it going.
  25. sargennm
Well, Weeks got a hit when a pitcher threw him one he could hit, and Braun and Fielder had pretty good approaches at the plate even if the results left something to be desired. 21 pitches in the first for Homer. I'll take it for now.
