  1. I completely, whole-heartedly, 100% disagree. I think it's pretty clear that the Cubs are probably the best team in the National League. You don't get a 100+ run differential by being lucky. If you want to give up on this team on July 30, be my guest. Even after this series is done, there's still 6 games left against the Cubs and a cupcake schedule. The Brewers will still be in it in September -- I think even Cubs fans would agree with that.
  2. Corey Hart has really, really sucked in right field this series. I'm getting really tired of seeing balls roll past the guy that's supposed to be the fastest player on the team.
  3. Manny Parra - 2 hits Everyone else in a Brewers uniform - 2 hits Outstanding.
  4. And that'd be reason #4,542 why hit and runs are incredibly stupid. Kendall should've scored there, but now they'll just strand Parra at third.
  5. Well, Cameron has to swing at garbage like that if a ball an inch above the dirt is a strike tonight. This strike zone pretty much sucks for both teams.
  6. He's actually been pretty decent this series. 1-3 with a walk last night and 2-3 with a walk and a run in the opener. He had a pretty bad Houston series, but he's still managed to get on base in 4 of the past 5 games, and in that one game he didn't get on base he had a sac fly RBI. It stinks not seeing him get many meaningful hits, but he's not getting much to hit.
  7. Dempster seems like Bush in some ways -- he's horrible in one of the early innings, but once he settles down he's pretty good. I could see how that would work against him as a short reliever.
  8. Dude, we both know he'd just put Weeks in. I was thinking he'd go with Counsell. This lineup needs some veteran battling gamers in this lineup in such an important game.
  9. Throw Billy out, please. Maybe Ned will be forced to use the guy he should've started.
  10. My guess: Fielder walks. Hart K's. Hall K's. Cameron grounds out.
  11. Manny's throwing waaaay too many pitches early. Edit: What the hell is Piniella whining about now?
  12. I really wish Brian and Bill would stop looking at the Cubs' pitchers' stats and saying "WOW, that's really good for pitching half his games in Wrigley Field!" like it's some kind of bandbox. This year it's been a slightly better hitter's park than Miller.
  13. Manny can mash. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Get him in early, Ray.
  14. Yeah, that's kind of dumb. They were just in an offensive slump...it happens to every team, and it just happened to be around the All-Star break for them.
  15. They called it a straight triple. It seems like it's almost impossible to get an error slapped on you in the outfield -- you have to pretty much blatantly drop it or throw it into the dugout while trying to throw home. That's part of the reason why I'm not impressed by the fact that Braun has no errors this year.
  16. Bill Hall in the lineup against Dempster? Yeah, that'll end well.
  17. We might need to use one of these if they lose again today... http://www.thinkgeek.com/images/products/additional/large/office_space_kit_mat.jpg
  18. What are the odds that the "SHEETS ISN'T A *REAL* ACE!" topic gets talked to death in Milwaukee over the next 24 hours?
  19. Zambrano was great, Sheets fell apart in the 6th. Not much else to complain about, IMO...they just got beat tonight.
  20. Hey, no shutout! We're not gonna get skunked!
  21. I don't think the sports media claims to be unbiased -- most of them will openly tell you that they root for the best story. This year, the 100th anniversary of the last Cubs World Series win, the Cubs would be a better story than the Milwaukee Brewers.
  22. I petition that all Brewers/Cubs games from now on should be played at Wrigley Field...who's with me?
  23. Hart's had his head firmly up his bunghole for a good 2 weeks now. Way to hustle on that ball while it rolled to wall, dude.
  24. Incredible that Zambrano can still locate that 94 mph pitch after throwing 110 pitches.
  25. Avoiding a shutout would at least be nice. Maybe a fake rally in the 9th. Hell, I'll settle for someone other than Braun and Fielder having a decent AB.
