    Brantley is the guy who remains convinced that Rafael Palmeiro never took steroids, just because they were teammates in college at Mississippi State. He's pretty much been a joke ever since he defended Palmeiro to the death on ESPN, even after Raffy tested positive.

    Cubs fall to 1-3, Reds play the Phils later tonight. Edit: Apparently jumped the gun a bit..still interesting with the DeRosa HR.

    The Detroit Tigers are now 0-4, losing all of those games at home to the Royals and White Sox. Their pitching has been brutal so far, even by AL standards.

    Prince is an RBI machine...I've been really impressed with his hitting so far this year, even if he's homer-less so far.

    Johnny Estrada would've been thrown out at home by 10 feet...nice running, Kendall. Sanchez should be gone soon...he's really laboring this inning.

    Well at least Sanchez is nearing 70 pitches already. Hardy's been really slow out of the gate so far, though.

    Slick fielding, CV. Hopefully they can stretch him to 6 innings today, but he's going to need a quick inning. With Parra going tomorrow, the bullpen needs to be fresh.

    I don't get the all-fastball thing so far, either...I could've sworn he's supposed to have a pretty good breaking pitch. Sanchez has always put up some pretty gaudy K numbers in the minors, though, so he's been doing something right.

    Sanchez is a pretty good young pitcher, but gets overlooked a lot because of Cain and Lincecum. I wouldn't be surprised to see a low-scoring game, at least until Sanchez leaves the game.

If they shortened it up a bit, they could split the word between the "w" and the a".

    How have the Giants won a game? I guess even a blind, offensively anemic squirrel finds a nut every once and awhile. As for it being another day game, I don't really mind the Friday afternoon games (especially since I don't have class on Fridays...hooray creative scheduling). Four afternoon games in a row (six by the time the weekend is done) is a little crazy, though, but that's what happens when you start the season in Chicago. With that said, Go Crew, and good luck to The Real CV on "Monster Mega Opening Day in Milwaukee" (thanks for that, Ned).

    Does anyone else think Riske kind of looks like a shorter Matt Wise? I never really realized it until this afternoon.

    Crazy Joe Dillon is going to be a very good pinch hitter this year. Another RISP is never a bad thing to lead off an inning, especially with the top of the order coming up soon.
