Didn't we have to shut down BF.net for a day or two after that one, just so everyone could regain their sanity? Or was that at another point last year?
In the past I've called Corey Hart "The Hitman" (as a reference to Bret Hart). All he needs are the pink-rimmed shades. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
Well he wasn't a horrible pitcher with the Dodgers and was pretty good in the Cards' World Series run...if he could somehow replicate his career NL numbers it wouldn't be a terrible thing, but you'd have to think that guys like ZackJack or Narveson could put up comparable numbers. I'll agree that it's pretty much just another warm body to keep in AAA just in case someone else gets hurt.
I actually had a nightmare last night that Bush gave up 8 ER in 2 innings. I've hated playing at New Busch ever since it opened, and those feelings were amplified with that double header meltdown last year. I'd be thrilled to get out of St. Louis with 1 win and no injuries at this point.
If he was a real winner, he wouldn't have let Gagne blow the save on Opening Day and he'd be 3-0. Seriously, though, I'm glad Benny's finally a "winner". If he stays healthy, he's on track for a very special season.
Jose Reyes is expected to miss this afternoon's game. The Brews desperately need a win...everyone here is getting a little too grumpy for mid-April. It won't be easy against Santana, but at least he throws left handed...that means we should see TH's mighty Gabe Kapler in the lineup.
Just a crappy night for a game that felt bad from the start. Blech. At least the Sheets/Santana match up should be fun to watch tomorrow. And the Cubs lost.
Nice double play to get out of the inning, right after the SNY announcers were bragging about how people "who actually watch baseball" know that sacrifice plays are a good idea.
Why is it always the Marlon Andersons and Damion Easleys that beat the Brewers when they play the Mets? Prince has had a really bad night defensively. A pretty bad defensive effort overall, actually...it seems like no one wants to be there.
Gabe Gross almost killed Corey Hart. I can't wait for Cammy's suspension to be over with. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Nice couple of innings for Riske.
Jose Reyes out of the game with a tight hamstring...hopefully the Brewers can take advantage with both Castillo and Reyes out now. Phillies take a 4-3 lead over the Cubs on an RBI double by Pat Burrell. A total of 4 HR's in that game already and it's only the 6th inning.
Eliminate the no-hitter and the shutout all at once...nice. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Holy crap...Manny's done? Come on, Crazy Joe Dillon.
Figueroa's curveball really has some bite tonight...the moisture and humidity is really helping with all of his sinking stuff. Hey, there's a baserunner. About time.
