  1. Well the holiday is over, the roads are still terrible, can anyone explain that one now?
  2. Just out of curiousity, what will the mood of some be here if the Brewers do make the playoffs, or better yet, advance? Still the Yost hatred?
  3. He made it seem as if Braun was more than willing to move away from 3b. He didnt' come out and say "Braun wants to move," but he didn't make it sound like there would even be any hesitation.
  4. I'll just do a quick overview here of what Melvin said this afternoon on Gary and Cliff... Thought the had a competitive offer in on Cordero, seemed as if he felt disappointed Coco choose the worse team for just a few more dollars. Also Melvin said he felt they didn't even get a chance to up their initial offer as Cordero's camp sat on it for almost nine days Made a serious multi-year offer for Kerry Wood. Brewers were in his top three as Wood's wife is a Chicagoan. Melvin also thought that by Kerry accepting the Cubs one year deal to stay in Chicago showed character. Interested in Percival, not sure about durability. Will put in a serious and legitimate offer to Octavio Dotel. Thinks closers are demanding far too much money right now, GM's are put in a corner to pay the closer what the asking price is because you can't win without one. Right now Turnbow is the lead candidate to replace Coco. Turnbow never said he was considering asking for a trade after the season, he went to DM right away and told him he never said that, and wasn't sure where the JS came up with that information. He loves Milwaukee, and wants to stay and be part of the future No news on a LF, however if a serious 3b option comes available, Braun will move to LF. (He wants to as does the organization) I thought Melvin was pretty insightful as to what was going on, he didn't really avoid any questions. I don't think I missed anything, but feel free to add anyone.
  5. The "Night of the Grateful Red" is tonight I believe at 7pm?
  6. With the college basketball season upon us tonight, does anyone plan on attending their local favorite University's "Madness" events? I will be at both UWM's tonight, and MU's tomorrow, what a great time of the year!
  7. Figured I'd throw this question in here, seeing as it probably isn't necessary to start a new thread. If any of you out there are baseball historians or Fenway admirers, would anyone here like to see Prince hit a ball past the "lone red seat?" or would you all rather see it stay a Boston/baseball legend? There are tons of quirky things to Fenway, and seeing as Milwaukee is returning for the first time in years, would anyone like to see them broken?
  8. I just realized that even if the Crew doesn't make the playoffs, "Spirit of Radio" by Rush is still one of the greatest songs of all time.
  9. They were in position to win last night, 2 runs off a rookie pitcher is no fault of the manager. Yes there were questionable moves down the stretch last night, however they shouldn't have been in that position to begin with. It's still only one game, we couldn't honestly expect to have won out, could we?
  10. Not sure if this is the right forum for this, or if it's better suited in the trading post but..... I have a Memphis Audio Class D amp for sale. I had my subwoofers stolen and now have no use for the amp. It's a 250 watt 2 channel amp, but if any of you know car audio, you will know Memphis Class D are some of the most powerful amps out there. I had it powering 2 12" Polk Audio subs, and it rocked them pretty well. I have pictures if anyone is interested, I'm shooting for like $150.00/obo. Hope I can help someone out, it's a good amp pretty cheap. Thanks everyone!
  11. I disagree 100%. Prince is going to be the guy that puts and keeps Milwaukee on the baseball map. Mark and the ownership group know this. At this point, you let the money go with guys like Bill Hall and Rickie Weeks. I see Prince in the Brewer Blue for some time to come.

  13. Sorry about that, I didn't see this thread when I looked for it, must have been an oversight on my part. I'm deleting my post. On this topic though, regardles of if he was involved in any wrongdoing he now has a black eye on all he's accomplished. The red flag has been raised, and now he's lumped in with "that group."
  14. Again though, look at the history of arms that Ned has to work with. I'm not saying this in excuse of Monday's game, but just think back over the past few years about the second half collapse's these "Ned" teams have had. No way are arms like the above listed going to get it done in August/September. The manager does make some poor decisions, yes, but I really think there is a greater issue at hand. Melvin's best move to date was a no brainer of clearing Overbay for Prince. (Arguably the Cordero move was better). I just can't believe everyone jumps on the "Yosted" bandwagon and has no beef with Melvin for some of the garbage that's been signed.
  15. You're right, 3 out of 4 is terrible. Ned will be here next year too, so I guess see ya later. Yeah, and leading the league in bonehead decisions by trying to use unconventional stats is? That would be like Lou Pinella say " We decided to pitch around the guy because we found out he's 13 - 78 after day games vs lefties when he's shaved even though in his career he's 13 for 20 against the guy. BTW, did Ned Lost tell anyone why he sat Hall who was a career .361 hitter against Oswalt? Chances are, if you (implying anybody) followed any other baseball team as much as the Brewers you would hate half of that manager's decisions too. Look at Philly just this week... Sweep the Mets, get rocked by Florida. It happens with every team, all season long and in the end we're just fans and this is simply a baseball game.

  17. Yea Billy! Too bad we can't flippin' see it!
  18. I absolutely cannot stand not being able to see this, crappy 0-1.
  19. I was thinking the same thing, I couldn't believe there wasn't one already.
  20. 1-0 Houston in the bottom of the 2nd on a Luke Scott HR.
  21. Russel the Muscle continues his bid to play for every Major League team. Will never forget the opening day HR's.
  22. Not to mention Santo's ever famous "Oh jeeeez, oh man, ugh... ugh."
  23. Sorry not everyone was raised with the same opportunities as you. Make sure your pedestal doesn't get too high. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/mad.gif
  24. I agree with you for the most part. The only problem I have with placing onus on Melvin is that he has done his job well in those 5 years. I say this honestly because I look at the numerous trades and key hires he has made that did indeed improve the club. The talent level has increased each year, while the results have not. The only thing I would say Melvin has done poorly is not realizing sooner that Yost is not cut out for MLB managing. Its hard to fault him there, because Yost has been able to hide behind a .500 season and injuries the last two years. But this year his flaws are glowing fluorescent yellow and orange. The decision should be an easy one for him. Now its only a matter of timing. I may have went too high on the food chain when I mentioned CEO. I may have been better served saying Vice President of Operation/Finance. Someone who can't explain their spending or efficiency variance may get the axe before the higher ups on the food chain get theirs. I respectfully disagree, it seems pretty contradictory in itself. What is your basis for saying that Melvin has done his job well over the past 5 seasons? As far as I'm concerned, generally speaking, a Manager is an extension of the hiring GM. Melvin wouldn't have kept Ned on this long if he didn't believe Ned was the right guy for this job. I don't know what numerous trades and FA signings you are talking about, because the last time I checked, we were still watching Mench, Cappy, Vargas, Soup, Graffy, Counsell, David Bell etc... The rest of the young guys we can all thank Jack Z. for, not Melvin.
  25. " I mean, here we are, on the verge of September 1, and it looks like we'll be extending our streak of season without a winning record." ?uo???npo?d ???su???o pl????no ?no pu? '?u?????d pu? ?su???p ??o?d?? o? p??u ?? ?8002 o? ?ool o? ???? ??l???x? I couldn't agree more. Enough with the projects, let get some talent in here that is proven.
