  1. Cool guy. Brooks, if you read this, you should definitely contribute to the site.
  2. According to Sportscenter, this was the first time the Brewers swept the Cardinals in St. Louis since 2003. Sigh...
  3. When's the last time the Brewers blew a 7-0 lead? They probably came close in 2007...
  4. Mota gave up 4 ER in 1.2 IP for the Dodgers today.
  5. Very Yostian of Ken Macha. IMO, he was hoping for the favorable outcome, rather than actively placing the team in the best position to win.
  6. I didn't want to start a separate IGT for this game, but you should check out the Cleveland-Tampa Bay boxscore. Zobrist and Longoria were both pegged to start at 3B, with nobody starting as the DH. The umpires determined that the Rays would lose their right to the DH, forcing pitcher Andy Sonnanstine to hit third.
  7. Three way tie for first place. I wish the Reds would go away.
  8. Not even NY can support three hockey teams. The Islanders are slowly fading and chances are they'll move to Kansas City within the next 5-10 years. Am I the only person that would feel weird about a third New York MLB team?
  9. I'd rather name a second-place team the MLB Champion than have a situation like the NFL where you had an 8-8 and 9-7 team win their respective divisions, while an 11-5 team misses the playoffs altogether. Heck, the 9-7 Cardinals were 2 minutes away from winning the Super Bowl. The two division format does a better job of ensuring that the teams with the best records qualify for the playoffs. I'd settle for an 8 division format if there were 12 total playoff teams, but I'm absolutely against adding an another Wild Card. Why devalue the accomplishment of making the playoffs?
  10. That actually escallated into a shouting match (between the cop and fan) about what was appropriate. Very odd since he was not obnoxious and was cheering for the HOME team. I assume that the cop wasn't a Brewers/sports fan and doesn't understand why people stand at a game.
  11. There are a lot more middle aged Cubs fans who come to the game to be a tool, than I see of middle aged Brewers fans. I agree. I sat in the bleachers for the July 28, 2008 game (the most competitive game in that series), and there was an older man causing trouble. He wore a fake WI license plate around his neck that said, "Wrigley North", and he held a sign that said, "Welcome to Wrigley North." That pretty much epitomizes why I hate the Cubs. I though it was pretty funny/sad that a 50-year old man got off on pissing off the Brewer fans like that. It's been said time and again, but I believe that the atmosphere would be less hostile if the CHC fans realized that they're the guest, and if they acted like it, too.
  12. Jeff Suppan lives on Pewaukee Lake, as well. I saw Jon McGlocklin at the Delafield Walgreens once, too.
  13. I think I should wear my Sweep Suit to tomorrow's game. On another note, we're due for a full-out bean-ball, beatdown brawl during one of the games against the Cubs. It might even be tomorrow.
  14. I think it's sour grapes because he didn't get the managerial job. Kind of a dopey and unprofessional thing to say in that situation. And if he wanted to rip on Milwaukee, he could think of something better to say than "everybody eats cheese here." Lame, IMO.
  15. They're upset that a newcomer has been better than them the last couple of years. They've been used to the Astros and Cubs challenging them for playoff spots, but since the Brewers pretty much walloped them last year, they now have a problem with us. I sense that since they're commenting about "untuck em" in a completely unrelated game, they're frustrated with their struggles against Milwaukee, especially the 4-game sweep. I'm beginning to see why the Cubs fans detest the Cardinals. They sure seem like a group of sanctimonious crybabies to me.
  16. I was just reading the reactions at dodgersblues.com's forum and was intrigued by the title of their version of brewerfan's major league section -- Brewers 16, Dodgers 1. Does anybody know why they would call their major league section that? Dodger Blues is a forum for the supposedly long-time suffering, frustrated, and not to mention, foul-mouthed, Dodger fan. The entire site has a vibe of negativity and pessimism. So, their ML forum is a place to discuss "how the Dodgers suck so badly that they lost 16-1 to a pathetic team like the Brewers." I don't know if that makes sense, and I know it isn't really fitting now that the Brewers are good. It's really a jab at the Dodgers, though.
  17. The Patriots discussed moving from Massachusetts to Connecticut before they settled on constructing Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Plus, I've noticed that the Red Sox have an extremely loyal following in RI, VT, NH, and ME, not to mention in MA. You see a lot of license plates from those states in the parking lots and on the streets during Red Sox games. So, I definitely think the New England Patriots nickname is appropriate for the region.
