  1. So, this is potentially Yo's first career CG? *knocks on wood*
  2. One of my favorites -- mls4 mentioned it above. May 17, 2005: Washington's Jamie Carroll ends Wes Obermueller's bid for a perfect game with 1 out in the 7th inning. The Brewers win the game, 8-2. Wes only allowed two baserunners in eight strong innings. Ricky Botallico gave up a 2 run HR in the 9th inning, destroying the shutout. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/WAS/WAS200505170.shtml
  3. I know it may be blasphemous, but I think Busch Stadium is spectacular -- way better than Miller Park. It's gorgeous and my absolute favorite stadium in baseball. I was there for that hideous series in July 2007. The fans were very nice, but I'd imagine they won't be so gracious this time around. The Budweiser tour center was packed the couple of times I've been in St. Louis. I don't know if it's worth the wait, but I'm sure it's fun.
  4. I'm convinced Dave Bush will throw a no-no before the end of his career.
  5. Outstanding work, especially against a lineup as potent as Philadelphia's.
  6. So...this is the point where it ended last year against the Blue Jays. So very nervous. And, Brian, shut up!!
  7. I'll be monitoring this game via Gameday on my phone, undoubtedly the single most excruciating way of following a game. Let's hope the Brewers give themselves the chance of winning the series tonight because we're getting awfully close to a Pink Night.
  8. Yeah, this is great news. The key to breaking last year's mark is July and August. Except for three games, the Brewers sold every ticket during those two months last season. I wonder if the Brewers have a shot at outdrawing the Cardinals this season. I'd love to see that.
  9. Series, I don't think PH for Kendall even crosses his mind. Yost's, either.
  10. The Brewers better find a way to pick up a couple of wins against Cincinnati because with NYM and PHI coming up, the schedule isn't getting any easier.
  11. I am so close to using up my first strike. How close was it for radio fans? The ESPN camera view made it look like the ball landed at freakin' IHOP.
  12. I can't believe I was happy when we signed Suppan. What an awful Christmas present.
  13. Sadly, I'm used to the Cubs winning by 9th inning home runs by now. That's the fourth in less than two years. Unreal.
  14. No, blackouts do not apply to Sunday Night Games.
  15. We will get to see our Brewers again once the Bucks move. Hopefully that is sooner rather than later. Why do you want the Bucks to move so badly? I fail to understand how Milwaukee losing its NBA franchise is a good thing for anybody.
  16. Like it or not, I think Counsell will end up being #1 option off the bench for Macha.
  17. but some of the stuff they're saying about their team and ours is ridiculous ("I mean, I know it was just the Milwaukee Brewers, but ten runs!"). Very funny. You'd think they'd check the '08 standings and see 90 wins. It's akin to judging CC Sabathia by his start on Monday. Yovani's last start in SF was a disaster. Let's hope for a better outcome tonight.
  18. I don't think that Cubs fans attending Friday's game really know what they are getting themselves into. I agree. I doubt her boss knows what he's getting himself into. I personally can't wait to see the arrest totals for Friday. Part of me says, "there's no problem if they behave." The other part of me wouldn't want my Opening Day ruined by forceably sharing the experience with Cubs fans.
  19. But it just seems very Suppan to give up a meatball with the bases loaded. Just like the pitch versus Pat the Bat. Full count, 2 outs, 2 on. Ugh.
  20. Not mention the Giants scheduling a late game on Thursday, forcing the Brewers to push back our Friday game to 3:05 pm.
