  1. I think Rina Wear in St. Louis sells a couple of anti-Brewers shirts. They have some funny Cubs shirts, but I think a few of them might get you in trouble if you wore them to a game.

  3. Hall injured his right hamstring making a diving catch in the 1st. Cameron ran into the CF wall attempting to catch a ball in the 2nd, but he didn't leave. He does look kind of dazed right now, though...
  4. I agree, but a one-game, spot-start is no big deal, IMO.
  5. This is what we get for putting Hall in the outfield. Why was it such a bad idea?
  6. Very nice catch. Not a full-out dive, but a head-first slide. He looks very natural out there.
  7. I'll second the praise for Guster. They're very good, although I don't know if anybody over 30 is really into them.
  8. Therefore while we'll be competitive, competitive will mean around .500, usually around 6th best in the NL A good deal has changed since the 1990s. New owner, more $$, more fans. I don't think that makes me delusional, etc. And, the Brewers finished with the third best record in the NL in 2008, the 6th best in baseball. I don't know how you can say that the Brewers not spending big $$ will eternally send them into that ~.500 area The Rays won 97 games last season. There is a difference between a limited budget and poor spending decisions.
  9. Based on our roster makeup, there was no reason to think last year was our only realistic playoff chance. Absolutely, but isn't there some intangible value to the Sabathia deal? His acquisition drove attendance in 2008, and the playoff appearance certainly impacts attendance this year, too. Plus, it's hard to know for certain or quantify it, but what would have the consequences been if the Brewers missed the playoffs last season?
  10. 12 posts? What is this, 2003? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif It just never felt like we had a chance tonight. I'm ready for the offense to hand Arizona a beatdown tomorrow.
  11. I'm happy Macha knows that the LF doesn't have to bat third, very unlike Ned Yost.
  12. Sure, you hate the trade, but was it really a dumb trade? Even those who disagree with the deal wouldn't say it's a "dumb" trade. with no chance at actually making a realistic push to the World Series. Just like those 2006 St. Louis Cardinals. And no chance of making a realistic push? They were the second best NL team for the majority of the season.
  13. Way to go, Brian Gorman. I hope he's held accountable for his mistake. Ugh.
  14. 3 vs ARZ (2-1) 2 @ PIT (1-1) 2 @ CIN (0-2) 3 vs CHI (2-1) 3 vs FLA (1-2) 3 @ STL (1-2) 3 @ HOU (2-1) 3 @ MIN (1-2) 3 vs STL (2-1) 3 vs CIN (3-0) 15-13
  15. IIRC, the next longest current home winning streak for the Brewers is 7 against Washington.
  16. I hope so! I'm sitting in the Field Diamond Box tonight. But, really, if the Pirates want to tango, I guess we have no choice. I don't want Bush or anybody, for that matter, instigating a fight. They're the Pirates and the Brewers have asserted their dominance and superiority over them the past two years by their play alone.
  17. Not to mention the 8,790 fans they drew last Monday versus the 32,192 that the Brewers drew last night. I hope that more of their fanbase is in touch with reality because there's not much of a debate as to which organization is superior.
  18. Great reading over there. The only two arguments I saw were "Fielder is fat!!!" and "Pirates > Brewers because they won the 1979 World Series."
  19. 13: the number of consecutive games in which the Brewers have defeated the Pirates. 16: the number of consecutive games the Pirates have lost in Milwaukee.
  20. Good game. This core has truly exorcised its road demons.
  21. I'd rather Villa face the righty, rather than the lefty Blum, even with two strikes. Especially if the next batter is Towles.
  22. Man, the Astros' announcers didn't seem too pleased neither with the way Cam broke up that DP nor the way Billy eyeballed that one going out Meh, sour grapes. Too much whining nowadays.
