  1. The D in this game disgusts me.
  2. At least the game is tied. It seems like every game against Cincy is interesting.
  3. Well, that's just about as ugly as it gets.
  4. Ugh, I have a feeling Weeks will get picked off.
  5. I don't feel badly for Scotty Po. He was a World Series hero and a former All-Star (albeit a Final Vote winner). He certainly had his time in the sun. You have to feel horrible for Koskie -- nobody deserves what happened to him. I'll admit: I kinda felt badly for JDLR yesterday. He's never able to put it all together, and when he can't, he gets absolutely smoked. I hope he finds a steady job.
  6. I'd much rather play Arizona. One would expect Arizona to be pretty close to .500, probably stumbling into the playoffs, and of course, Arizona's offense is nowhere near as explosive as Philadelphia's. Heck, the Brewers are 10-4 against Arizona the past two seasons (if they don't puke up that game on July 3, they're 11-3). I'll take my chances with Sheets/Sabathia v. Webb/Haren. Philadelphia would be rocking...Arizona likely not. I could see the Brewers caving in a pressure-filled, electric environment.
  7. The Brewers do have a favorable upcoming schedule, but the road games have a potential to be brutal. They have 9 games remaining in the state of California (we all know how the Brewers perform on the West Coast), 4 games in Philadelphia, 3 in Chicago, 3 in Atlanta, and 6 in St. Louis. For the most part, the home schedule is a cupcake, but we expect the Brewers to win at home, no matter the opponent. Granted, the Sabathia deal makes me feel a bit better about the road games, but that's a serious area of concern.
  8. 36 home games remaining. I'll go ahead and assume they'll sellout this weekend. They begin their next homestand July 25 with a three game weekend series against Houston. Odds are, they'll sellout that series, too. Undoubtedy, they'll sellout the four games against Chicago, and probably the next weekend series against Washington. The Monday, August 11 game against Washington at 1pm will likely fall short because it is on a Monday -- probably not as an attractive as a Thursday daygame. But, think about that. The Milwaukee Brewers will probably sellout 14 straight games. Saturdays and Sundays are slamdunk sellouts. The Sabathia trade may be enough to push Friday nights to a slamdunk sellout status, too. The Brewers may be hurt by a ten game homestand in early September, including six weekday games (including the night where the Packers are on MNF). I wouldn't underestimate the CC Sabathia mania -- it seems it will drive ticket sales the rest of the year.
  9. 1. CHC 2. PHI 3. ARZ 4. MIL Arizona vs. Chicago Cubs Milwaukee vs. Philadelphia Wild-card team plays the best team, provided they do not belong to the same division. It's a pretty safe bet that'd the Brewers would be playing the NL East Champion in the NLDS.
  10. I see the Mets as a huge threat. That series between Milwaukee and the Mets on Sept. 1-3 will be huge. The Mets have a few home games against St. Louis and Philadelphia, but their August schedule is filled with home games against the Houstons and San Diegos of the world and road games at Washington and Pittsburgh. They have a tough eight game road trip in Philadelphia (2), Florida (3), and Milwaukee (3) in late Aug/early Sep. They have 15 home games in September, including a potentially huge 4 game set against the Cubs. Call me crazy, but New York's schedule sets them up for success. They have no remaining games on the West Coast, and leave the Eastern Time Zone only twice (Houston, Milwaukee). They're going to get fat after feasting on the Nationals, Pirates, and Padres.
  11. Little Big League One of my favorite baseball movies when I was younger
  12. Let's just say, keep an eye on Derek Lowe tonight.
  13. The Brewers put up a crooked number against JDLR last season when he pitched for the Royals. I'm not too concerned.
  14. Looking over my shoulder, I see the New York Mets. Time to shape up, Brewers.
  15. Why would Ned use Mota in that situation? Baffling. Mota has to been close to the edge. One more of these outings and he'll be DFAd
  16. I can't stand most of the ushers. Most of the guys in the field section are a bunch of old guys who are on a power trip. Yet, when there are a bunch of boorish drunks in the bleachers disrupting an entire section, they're nowhere to be found. They should put the power-hungry ones in the bleachers. It seems like people that sit in the club section don't care too much about the game. They're the last ones to stand and cheer. I would know because I sit there often and this trend bothers me. I felt as if the crowd was really into it last night. Down 4-0, with two on and no outs, the entire stadium was on its feet and loud. I have left games early -- I don't think it makes me less of a fan. I'm a habitual scorekeeper, so I don't like missing any action. I left early during one of the St. Louis games in August. I was so disgusted with the play, and I didn't want to watch anymore. Also left the game that Gagne blew against the Cards this season. I won't leave if a game is a blowout; I'll only leave if I'm emotionally deflated. And, I have no faith that this team will make the postseason. I'll believe it when I see it. I also have a feeling that CC will have an extremely average start tonight (5 IP, 3-4 ER). Most of us Brewer fans are born and bred pessimists.
  17. There is SRO/single seats only for Thursday. That game will certainly be a sellout
  18. I'm a fan. Their one and only album is outstanding -- one of the best I own. I thought the show at Summerfest was quite bad this year (too much bass, couldn't hear the piano, screaming teenage girls); probably not Andrew's fault, though. But Everything In Transit never gets old -- a very fun album to listen to.
  19. I don't know if I read correctly, but I believe McCalvy said CC would available to the media at 5 pm CT.
  20. Funny: The guys at the Cardinals forum seem fearful of the Brewers rotation. The guys at the Cubs forum are almost...laughing at us? They still aren't taking us seriously. Edit: On an unrelated note. mending this rotation makes me much more comfortable about the upcoming road games.
  21. Why would the Dodgers even think about dealing Clayton Kershaw? Especially for a "rental"? If you think the Brewers are mortgaging the future by dealing LaPorta/Green, look at what the Dodgers may do. If they deal Broxton to Cleveland, aren't they weakening their bullpen significantly? I've always been impressed with Broxton. Do the Dodgers really believe that they can make a run at the World Series with Sabathia? I see the Brewers with a much better opportunity with Sabathia.
  22. Brewcrewin07: I too have a feeling that TH is a step ahead of Buster. He does indicate that LaPorta would be involved in a possible trade, but gives no information regarding Cain and/or Green. I believe this is a reiteration that Escobar and Gamel are off-limits. If I were a Cleveland fan, I'd want Shapiro to pull the trigger on a deal with Milwaukee ASAP. I'd bet that LaPorta would be called up to MLB very soon, and he'd draw some interest. When they're out of the race and CC's gone, I bet they'll be drawing 18000 a night. It's better than taking a considerably lesser offer from LAD (why would CLE want any part of Hu?) -- and it would be prudent to pull the trigger before CC's next start (obviously to keep his value where it is).
