  1. counsell hit a ball pretty hard that just got flagged down by the first baseman. was hard to tell if he caught it clean or not (from a runner's perspective) so JJ was pretty much a dead duck as he was forced to run with Kendall at first. force out at second, JJ tagged out by the third baseman
  2. Looks like when the rain does get there that it shouldn't last too long.
  3. I hope Detroit's bullpen is a bad as Cleveland's was (and still is, as they blew the 7 run lead in Chicago just now).
  4. If Cameron gets restarted finally the Crew could be on to something.
  5. Not completely on topic here, but is it possible the weather could mess up the need for a fifth starter if tonight is a no-go in Detroit? Guess it depends on if the game starts at all and then when the reschedule date would be.
  6. Stop it with the cheese sandwhich. I have to get my blood drawn for a cholesterol test in the morning and you guys aren't making it any easier.
  7. I've never like bringing in teh closer in the middle of a jam.
  8. Given that this is the Cleveland bullpen, I think it's safe to temper the enthusiasm about the offense just a bit until we see what happens in Detroit.
  9. The Brewers improved to 2-81 all-time in games in which they allowed 12 or more runs on the road. This tidbit is from ESPN, so feel free to question it.
  10. Is it unfair to say that this team stinks right now? The fact that an error is charged to Braun on that throw is certainly a piece of evidence for anyone to use in the case against statistical studies of a sport.
  11. DOn't know how you can fault Macha for sticking with a guy who hasn't given up a run all year. Just a poor pitch to Pierzynski. I don't think this team has hit botom yet. I think they'll dip below .500 before it stops.
  12. I'm in no hurry to see Parra back up with the big team this season. Not because of any ill will toward Manny, but because I dont' think that his problems are going to be amenable to a fix of a short-term nature. If Manny is back up, it's probably because of an injury to another guy in the rotation, and that's is probably the death knell for the season. Certainly a key moment in this season, no matter how this turns out. in the longer term.
  13. Gotta love how the Twins fans took over Wrigley the past two games.
  14. That missed third strike to Bradley in the bottom of teh 9th may be the worst missed strike i've ever seen in my life. Mauer actually came up out of his crouch to toss it around the horn. Even the Cubs fans knew it was horrible.
  15. Prince has had some tough strike calls against him tonight.
  16. I know you can't put it all on one thing, but the Rickie Weeks injury cannot, IMO, be undersold.
  17. That swing by JJ almost looked like Cory Hart, except Cory Hart never would have gotten to a 3-2 count.
  18. A big thanks to the Rockies staff there. Of course, JJ is a DP machine, but we'll hope for the best as the guy is knid of in a fastball situation now.
  19. Looks like the Rockies are going on another one of the 21/22 streaks. Look out Dodgers. I have a feeling that this one is gong to turn out badly. Brewers simply cannot score right now.
  20. Anyone else have History Channel on where the HD feed should be on DirecTV? Edit: Now works and Monsterquest Tasmania is gone.
  21. This is the post-Weeks offense. At this point I'd rather they pick up a bat than a pitcher.
  22. Kind of had a feeling the pen was going to hve late inning trouble today.
  23. If you accept Manny for what he is this season, this was a decent start for him. That said, it doesn't change the fact that it appears he still has the same obstacles to overcome before he can be considered anything more than a back of the rotation guy. He's young, so he has time to improve. He was just fortunate that the Crew finally goth their HR mojo back.
