  1. I know some don't like Rock, but he had that called exactly right.
  2. I now feel like I can post today after making the smart-alecky "they'll get no-hit tomorrow" comment in last night's game thread.
  3. Hart's swing has gotten so long and open it's scary (for the fans, tht is).
  4. I agree JCrew. Add in the Hardy situation and the this is a lineup that s almost unrecognizable in some ways. You don't want to be counting on Hall, Counsell and McGehee too much, and certainly not every day. I think Gamel will be good, but he is still shy of 20 ML ABs.
  5. Position-by-position I think that's a higly debateable proposition, as we've debated on this board before.
  6. Classic. I'm betting the bus breaks down on teh way to the airport and then there is something wrong with the charter when they finally get there. The Brewers roll inot Milwaukee at 9:30 a.m. and get no hit tomorrow, with some guys nearly nodding off during an AB.
  7. If they get one, it would be the first since they left Houston.
  8. Not to restart the argument from last season, but as currently situated this Brewer lineup is not even close to being as good as teh Twins lineup. When five of your guys are Hall against RHP, Counsell, Kendall, McGehee, and Gamel (who stil has less than 20 ML ABs), it's hard to argue that your lineup is better than just about anybody. Add in the fact that Gerut is adjusting to new surroundings and the Twins were due to overcome some bad luck they had in the last road trip, these results aren't all that surprising.
  9. About the only thing else that can go wrong in this series is for Hoffman to finally blow one in the end. All I can think of is the two years in a row where Turnbow (aided and abetted by Ned bringing him in with guys already on the the crowd going nuts) was having decent seasons and was never the same after that. I may just cut out again tonight and play Mario Cart with my kid.
  10. I don't think that was Billy's. He was in the cutoff position where he needed to be.
  11. That's the thing about errors. Braun gets the error there, but somebody in the infield clearly needed to be at third base there.
  12. Same old crap every time in the dome. They just look like a little league team and it makes me sick. Where is the team that's got the second best record in the NL? Where is the team that has played pretty good fundamental ball since Philadelphia?
  13. Whatever can go wrong is going wrong tonight. Knew they were in trouble when Morneau dropped his in in the first.
  14. Couple of grand slammers and the Crew is right back in this one.
  15. I think I'd bring in Julio and let him pitch the rest of the game.
  16. Manny Parra = Sergio Garcia, to go outside teh world of baseball. Raw physical skill, still questions about mental makeup and a pretty firm split amongst the fans in terms of who likes him, who doesn't, those who believe that he'll break through and those that think he never will
  17. Flat out embarrasing. It seems like this happens at least once a year against the Twins. They just make the Brewers look almost impotent sometimes.
  18. Can't say that was unexpected. Just have a bad feeling about the weekend in the baggie.
