I like that from Looper. Tells me he's competing. Hope the guys are awake now and put another stake through the heart like they did yesterday. Would be a shame to let this slip away because they got a bit lackadasiacal in the field with a big lead.
When this team is working counts, taking walks and then not giving the other team extra outs or extra bases, they are very good. I hesistate to say 'workmanlike' because some take that as a veiled negative, but today's game has been a dismantling so far, even with a missed oportunity or two. And then we have a miscue on teh pop up. I'll take responsibiity for that.
I thnk it would be funny, if the sweep is completed tomorrow, for the Brewers to not do anything except just walk off the field tomorrow. Not handshakes, no high fives, no untuckem, just walk, not run, off.
Ever since they began their good streak, the Crew has seemed to answer in that fashion a good percentage of the time. Hope the rest of the pen can keep Hoffman on the pine today.
I don't know who you give the credit to, but after looking like they would issue a number of walks that would, 90 feet at a time, be equivalent to a New York to San Francisco hike, the Crew's pitching staff is now fourth best in the NL in walks allowed.
So I watched teh pregame on DirecTV but I cannot watch the game, even though it is available on 652 to somebody? The question is, to whom is it available? Just the people who live in broadcast range of Milwaukee and don't need teh dish?
The Twins radio network feed is not present on Gameday either. FSNorth feed instead. Loking at the current radar, I think the rain will be there long before 9, but they could get lucky if things keep moving straight east with no southerly component to the movement. Have to agree with trwi.
Have a bad feeling about the late innings in this one. Should have hung more on Dempster and the Crew's pen is going to cough one up sooner or later. Hope I'm just being nervous.
Ryan Braun knows a million times more about hitting than I ever will, and taking the third pitch in his AB was probbaly the textbook thing to do, but that was a meatball from Brocail and I kind of wish he would have just hacked there. I think that pitch changed the whole inning.
Whew. That would have been more infuriating than any other loss this season if things hadn't come out on the up side. Get the sweep and go home .500, boys.
