  1. Well, we get one more inning out of CC. I think that's a good thing, but I'm not sure about anything anymore.
  2. I won't be impressed until they have a lead.
  3. You know trwi, I was thinking of setting up my telescope tonight, since I missed a lot of nice observing nights this summer being teased.
  4. Coaching first is barely a part-time job with this team.
  5. I thought I was beyond the anger stage, but here I am again. I just can't figure out who I'm angry with.
  6. At this point, barring a miracle, I'm on the verge of hoping the Brewers just get this over with on Sunday. It would take 6 straight losses and winning streaks by the Mets and Phils, but the insanity of such a streak would be a fitting end to the collapse. The fans have packed Miller Park for this bunch, and to have them have to suffer through official elimination at home is not a deserved end for them, especially as it will come either at the hands of an old nemesis (the Pirates) or the most-hated rival.
  7. I was kinda surprised no Brewers were on that double play list, but then I realized that the Brewers don't consistently have enough runners on to make that list. Gotta only give up 1 here. If the CUbs get to 3-0 I just don't see it happening for the Crew tonight. And there it is.
  8. I'm thinking there will be more trouble with this umpiring crew before the night is over. When I saw this group in the pregame with the managers at the plate, I figured there could be some drama.
  9. Hrm, I think I've seen this one before.
  10. Wow, 4 pages in two hours before the first pitch. I'm guessing the action here once the game actually gets started might make this IGT one to hang on to for a while.
  11. Would anyone put it past to the Cubs to decide which team they want out and then 'tank' the games against the other team in the final week (provided they've already clinched)? Their final 7 are NYM/MIL, so they certainly have the oportunity to decide someone's fate, should they choose to do so.
  12. Cameron should be gone. Even without performance issues, I'd prefer to keep getting younger/evaluating talent. I'd start to explore trades for Hart, though he starts the year somewhere out there unless there is a really good trade to be made in the offseason. I don't think he wants to be in Milwaukee long term, and he may be able to bring back some value at the deadline, especially if he starts off well next season. The left field spot is obviously locked up for the forseeable future. At this point I don't really care who plays out there. Looks like that issue can start being addressed on October 1.
  13. The insidious evil of the whole thing is any of us can really believe that any of this is good for the Brewers in any way whatsoever. At this point the only way out of the abyss is to climb out, not by hoping that Satan throws others farther down in the pit than we already are.
  14. Losing the WS was tough, but there was still a sense of accomplishment that season. And we had the whole "We woulda won with Rollie" thing to fall back on. This is just brutal. The only thing that would make it worse would be for one of the players call home before the flight and have Mark DeRosa answer the phone.
  15. Without a doubt, the worst day in Milwaukee Brewers baseball history. Unreal.
  16. It appears that the home team at Miller Park can't hit, no matter which team is there. Maybe the CDC needs to quarantine the place.
  17. I had a nice chat with my daughter tonight. I told her that when I was a little older than she is now, the Brewers played in a World Series. I told here that if she married a nice boy 15 years from now that maybe her child could say the same thing. Milwaukee Brewers - bringing families together.
  18. It's gotten to the point where, for the first time in years, I'm looking forward to the start of the Bucks season. Ray Allen is still playing, right?
  19. Maybe I'm getting loopy, but did I just hear Rock say that if the Phillies score a couple more runs the Brewers would really be in trouble?
  20. On the subject of the no-hitter curse, Zambrano is throwing one right now in Miller Park. Rumor has it the Cubs will also be spending the night in the various Brewer residences around town before tomorrow's game.
  21. Yay. Woo-hoo. Did the Philly fan throw the ball back on the field to elicit that cheer? Or did the Philly fans just mock the Crew for fianlly scoring a run? I kinda hope it's the latter because that kind of cruelty is appreciated in situations like this.
  22. Is the team flying back to MIL tonight, or are they going straight on to Chicago? If they're going to MIL, I'd suggest they just have the guys drive down to Wrigley in their own vehicles. Whoever shows up get to play.
  23. Hopefully Clemenza is sitting in the back seat of the car waiting for Yost at Mitchell Field.
  24. I feel bad for all the young guys who got the call up only to be exposed to this.
  25. I'm fully expecting an error fielding this bunt.
