  1. Get used to it brewers19. The entire postseason will be a Cubs slurpfest for as long as they are alive.
  2. I didn't think it was possible to see an offense worse than Michigan's today.
  3. Despite the winnign streak, this offense had never really gotten together at all. Two walkoffs, and Rickie's virtual walkoff are really all that have kept this team alive. Not surprising at all that this team is struggling on offense. The good feeling of winning has masked the monthlong stench.
  4. Sheets does not belong on the playoff roster
  5. stoops, play your cards right and there is a beer commercial in that somewhere
  6. Was at a HS football game tonight. Got home to the TV just as Rickie was taking the curtain call. Cool thing was, at the football game there were huge cheers for both of the previous Brewer runs, and the guys in the press box were also giving Met updates. The emotional 180 from last Friday night in Cinci to tonight is stunning.
  7. I don't care if they reanimate the '27 Yankees and put Cub unis on 'em. Just win.
  8. IF someone on the forum hits the big $200M Powerball jackpot, just imagine what the rotation could look like.
  9. Three playoff-type games tonight, three home team walkoff wins. Hard not to like baseball on a night like this. (Except for one of the specific results, of course).
  10. Three huge playoff implication games, three walkoff wins for the home teams. Not a bad night of baseball.
  11. Also not to forget, since it seems so long ago when it is only a couple hours, but I have never felt more confident about Yo's future than I have tonight. GUtsy performance by a kid coming off a major injury only a few months ago.
  12. Wow. Big comeback by Twins after being down 6-1 on a bad error by Slowey.
  13. C'mon Crew. Finish this so I can watch the second half of OSU/USC. Who knew that this OSU would be the one to play the better game?
  14. This entire night is balancing on a knife's edge. Two pitches a thousand miles apart can change the entire weekened outlook. Can't keep wasting opportunities.
  15. It looks to me like Braun simply can't torque right now. He ususlly coils himself up pretty good, but it looks like everything is arms right now. It obviously hurts his power, but he's changed his swing so much that his timing is just gone too.
  16. Maybe I'm seeing things, but I've had bad ribs before and the way Braun was carrying himself on the way in after that catch is, to me, pretty telling evidence that he's hurting quite a bit.
  17. This is some pretty inspiring stuff from Yo. Hoep the offense can finally ignite for once and put up a big crooked number. Would be great if Gagne could be run out there in the 9th with a comfortable lead so that he can get teh ovation he deserves from tonight's crowd.
  18. Here's to a bunch of 10 pitch, 1-2-3 innings in New York. Then cometh the deluge.
  19. The best small ball is the kind that happens sort of organically, rather than being trotted out as a by-the-numbers strategy. It usually infuritates opposing fans to no end, too.
  20. To heck with this. Win the WC outright. Seriously, it would be unfair to make the Brewers play an afternoon game on Monday, given the logistics of travel involved. Not that that would make a difference to the MLB honchos. I have a suspicion weather will truly create havoc with the schedule for end of the regular season AND the playoofsf
  21. There is a difference between what you have to do to win consistently over the course of 162, and what you have to do in a given situation to win a given one of those 162. Being able to execute small ball when needed in the latter situation is a really valuable tool in the latter situation, though not necessarily critical. As with any competitive situation, having that really valuable tool at your disposal can make all the difference if your opponent lacks that tool. And, as playoff baseball is a much different creature than the 162 grind, usually matching teams that are substatially similar in that they have the broad tools to get that far, those finer tools often take on greater significance when the spotlight is the brightest.
  22. I'm glad he's doing it to someone else for a change.
