  1. Eric Karros - genius. MIGHT be a long day for the Brewers?
  2. How in the world of physics could the ball possibly end up where it did if it didn't hit Utley. Unbelievablecall. But not unexpected, given teh run the Crew is on.
  3. At this point I leave Parra out there for 6 innings, regardless of result. Best chance to slavage a game is hoping for something on Sunday with the bullpen rested. Time to take one for the team, Manny.
  4. As predicted in the vent thread, the Brewers always save their most embarrassing performances for Saturday on FOX. Other than hoping for the miraclulous, one of the few reasons for sticking around is to see Ned finally blow a gasket, probably when the Brewers finally string two hits together in an inning and have a chance to get back to within 2 runs.
  5. I'd say just issue the IBB, but setting up a DP is one of the worst things this team can do, given its defensive "prowess"
  6. Let the beatdown commence. I have no idea where Ricy was throwing that ball. Not that it mattered with Parra getting killed today.
  7. If the Brewers fail to make the playoffs and Yost is still at the helm, I won't be surprised but I will be disappointed. Failing to make the playoffs, given their standing at the start of the month and despite the relative failures of just about everyone around them, could only be classified as a complete collapse which mirrors the slighlty less complete collapse of last season.
  8. GIven the Hall Kendall lineup, I don't think Ned was "Thinking Outside the Bun".
  9. If Braun is hurt, Ned needs to not have him in the lineup, especially as the way he's hitting we'd be calling for him not be be in the lineup if his name wasn't Braun.
  10. Enter a drawing to win a weekend getaway inclusing hotel, air fare and $1500 cash and tix to the Packers game in Tampa on September 28.
  11. Without HD, how will I see the Doorman's tears?
  12. You guys ain't seen nothin' yet. The Brewers save their most embarrasing performances this time of year for the big national games on FOX. I smell an Atlanta '07 repeat on Saturday. With Dave Bush flipping frisbees in that bandbox, topped off with a continuing batting slump and the ever-present fundamental instability, it's almost a lock, especially if Hamels puts the hammer down on Friday.
  13. Like my kid's swim meet where a personal best is a 'win', I'm still just hoping for a two hit rally.
  14. Since the sweep in STL, the Brewer results against the current playoff contenders in the NL: HOU 1-2 CHC 0-4 LAD 1-2 HOU 2-1 STL 1-1 NYM 0-3 That's 5-13 by my count, and looked bad doing it too. Nine games under if this one goes the way it looks like it's going. Bad defense by the Crew and fundamental execution by the other team = deathblow.
  15. BA anticipating the inevitable on strike two there.
  16. You know the theory about taking a big defensive play and carrying it over in the batter's box the next half inning? Isn't Hall not booting that play the Brewer equivalent of a big defensive play? I smell a two hit rally.
  17. How could he make a change there? There is no better alternative, even if Benny isn't 'on' tonight.
  18. DiFelice and Stetter up for the Crew in the heat of a playoff race. Just as we planned it in the sping.
  19. What also seems impossible to me is that 5 would be enough.
  20. Dear Baseball Gods: I was not serious this afternoon when I remarked that, given the park and the opposing pitchers, Ryan Howard might hit 10 home runs this weekend.
  21. The games at the end of the month still keep gaining in importance. Teams like the Angels have screwed their fans out of an exciting final three weeks of the season.
  22. Given the way the Brewers have played against halfway decent oponents after the AS break, I have zero confidence that the Crew can win any more than 1 game in Philly, and that's only if they get lucky. No Sabathia and the rest of this staff in that bandbox is a recipie for disaster. The only scenario at this point that would take teh sting out of the Brewers missing the playoffs would be a total Cubs collapse combined with teh Astros going Colorado on the NL and taking the division. Problem is, given the six the Brewers and Cubs play against each other, that's almost an impossibility. So I guess the Crew just needs to lock down and find a way to get this done. The long-term implications of failure are too great. If CC gets beat tomorrow, I can't imagine being able to log on here tomorrow after getting home from work. And, oh by the way media observers, I'd worry as much about the Reds on this coming road trip as as any other team. At least until the Crew pveros they can win A game.
  23. I had to endure the noise of a middle school girls swim meet earlier this evening, and now this stress. Throw me a frickin' bone here, OK guys?
