  1. To bend a Uecker phrase, 4 more solo homers and they're right back in this one.
  2. Let's se if he gets Counsell out on two pitches six inches in off the plate again.
  3. Well, yeah. It's the HOW part of that fact that makes you wonder. Sometimes.
  4. Does anyone else honestly wonder sometimes how this team has won 62 games?
  5. Let me take this opportunity to politely ask Fox 55 in Wausau to unhook the hampster-powered equipment they're running and start broadcasting in HD. Your HD cable to Charter does me and a lot of other people no good at all.
  6. Even if we stipulate to all those facts El Caballo, and I am very willing to do so, the counterargument is Morton. The movable object and the resistable force . . . . . Meet Prince Fielder!!!!!
  7. The only thing that might be more painful than this would be watching both teams attempt to manufacture a run without assistance from teh other team.
  8. When is the last time the Brewers looked good on a national/semi-national TV game? The Saturday win in NY last season when they equaled their high point for last season?
  9. Absolutely pathetic. Atlanta could have suited up the 80-year-old guy who pitched to Hamilton in the HR Derby and still be ahead in this one.
  10. C'mon guys. Look at the less-than-stellar lineup of pitchers that have shut down the Brewers this year and tell me you couldn't see this coming.
  11. I don't see any way this team doesn't win the National League.
  12. I just wish the Brewers had a little more of the IP part.
  13. Why? Sure, they'd want to hold on to them, but we've already established what these folks are willing to do. Now we're just talking price. Brewers/Cubs only happens in the NLCS and I don't see how fans willing to give it up for a couple hundred bucks would suddenly decide that they wouldn't for the 5 to 10x more that Cub fans would be willing to shell out to see their team possibly clinch a WS berth.
  14. I'm scared to death that this road trip will feature the Brewers losing their composure and 2 of 3 in Atlanta, followed by a Valentin walkoff hit and another series loss in the Great American Bandbox, resulting in a 7GB standing (and trailing 2 teams in the WC) by the time they return to MP.
  15. Yes, Cub fans will get a big share of tix to every game. BUT 1) During a weekend series Brewer fans from outstate, who would love to make it down to MP for the Cubs but usually can't for a weeknight game, would buy a lot more tickets and lend a bit more balance to the crowd composition. Who do you think is fueling all the weeked sellouts against teams like the Nats? 2) Part of the irk factor is all the Cub fans not in the upper deck, but way down low, in perfect view of all the world watching on TV. That's not due to supply and demand. That's due almost 100% to selling out.
  16. The ultimate capper here would be Prince taking an HBP off the back of his left hand. Then, as teh X-ray is analyzed, all day tomorrow fans in Wisconsin would wait by their radios in anticipation of new about . . . Brett Favre
  17. Mark A probably didn't get an extra dime from the Cubs fans. Many of his loyal season ticket holders did pretty well though.
  18. YOu know, the bases loaded walk was a much more apt metaphor for a lot of things than a grand slam would ever have been. Not that Mota is safe here,
  19. As long as you're not counting on the Brewers winning 21 of 22 games to accomplish those goals, I agree.
  20. I don't think teh season is over, but I am concerned that many of the things I have been concerned about in terms of sustainability over 162 are starting to reaer their ugly heads again. Have to wonder if the fact they seem to regularly emerge when the comeptition is better is just a conicidence. And obnoxious, smart-alecky comments are part of my coping mechanism.
  21. The Brewers non-HR runs this series have involved Prince and Branyan scoring all the way from 1st base, and then a run on a WP. Recipie for success.
  22. If the Cubs are going to win teh division, I can only pray that they do it before the final series of the year.
  23. I think it's gotten so bad that even the Cub fans are bored with kicking the Brewers behinds.
  24. If you hadn't specified his location, I would have said your ID was not specific enough to distinguish one from another.
  25. Empty the bench, Ned. If they're going to play like a bad HS team at least let everyone get an AB and a half-inning in the field.
