    I know this is somewhat off topic for this thread, but does anyone know when the minor league rosters will be set? I watched about 1/2 dozen guys that have passed through WV in the last 2 years play against the cubbies yesterday, and I've got to tell you, it was pretty exciting! I just figure that meant they were evaluating final roster assignments, and we do host family duty was trying to get a jump on apartment hunting!

    I don't know how many of you have actually taken in a Bull play by play on the WV Power network, but for a guy who grew up on Marty and Joe, I have heard NO one better in recent times. I think this guy has a truly entertaining way of delivering a game, that really does allow you to "see the park" in your mind. I wish Andy all the luck in the world, and hope someone on up the line sees this guy for the talent he really is!....and speaking of talent, this has been a very nice series...you guys are top notch!

    I'm not all that familiar with the Brewers past history as I didn't start following them until the put the WV Power here, but it appears to me that this just continual grasp for arms outside the system, none of whom in my mind are that "piece that fills the gap" could potentially mortgage the future, for what in my mind is certainly at best, and attempt to improve today (see Linebrink example above). I watched Thatcher pitch here, and in my mind watching him, he had the most "big league ready" tools, and physical stature of the pitchers I have seen come through here. Couple that with Inman and Garrison, I about died. When I heard they acquired Torres the other day for "two minor leaguers", I had to hold my breath till I could get home and find out who they were! I'm just not what to think about some of this stuff. Roberts could be a solid guy some day, but that one didn't excite me too much, but I worry about them doing something goofy like turning loose of someone like Jeffress or Angel to keep trying to find that square peg for the round hole! Upon further review and the Gagne signing, I think I've gotten over the shock of possibly losing the minor league talent, and think that they now have what they need at the back end of the bulllpen. I guess even my opinion can be changed...of course I think $10 mill for Gagne sure is a bunch of money, but hell, your signing 19 yr olds like Jeffress to 1.5 mill plus signing bonuses, so I guess the $10 mill can still be a deal!

    Guys...after hearing coaches words, and having spent a summer getting to know the kind of guy Angel is, I see him taking advantage of having a workout program and facility where he can be around his new daughter, and still take care of business. I watched this kid break bats over his legs after flying out when he went hitless in games. His biggest enemy is his expectations of himself in his own mind. Baseball is different today....regardless of what you think his suspension is about, five years ago you would never have heard a word, and there would have been no suspension and no comments from know it all "baseball experts". I plan on catching up with Angel when he makes his first trip into Cincinnati or Pittsburgh late this year or next...I know the guy, I've seen his heart...he still is your top 10 prospect. I can't wait to take my son to a major league town to meet his hero he got to be friends with when he was 5. I don't go out on a limb with too much I say on this board, but I'm willing to go there with what the coach says about Angel!

    Agent 39...any updates from the winter meetings? Are you aware of any of our guys getting looks from anywhere? After the Inman/Thatcher/Garrison deal, nothing would surprise me, and we have been talking about an excess at 3b an OF

    After watching Ford steal bases in Charleston for parts of the last two years, I agree with Agent 39...he is THE fastest I have seen, and man does he put the pressure on the pitcher, catcher, and middle infield. Early in the season here, between him and Brent Brewer, I saw so many errors and out of position plays in the middle of the infield it was almost comical! Darren is the real deal, I think he hits well and is a superb defender...just needs as they say, the proverbial seasoning!

    I don't care what it is...does anyone really know where he is? I've heard in the past he was tucked away in Arizona, and I haven't seen any evidence of him playing in Venezuela....anybody else have any updates on where he is? Regardless of what he did or didn't do, I still think this guy is one guy who could potentially bring something to the bigs some day as a catcher. There just really isn't much catching talent left any more, and I don't want to write this one off! I agree with Pogo....let's put the debate to rest...but I'd still like an update on the guy!

    I'm telling you guys....I watched him here in WV, and he quite literally was a man amongst boys! I watched him one nite when he game out in the 90 degree whether in a jacket sick from a cold or the flu, and he just banged and banged that nite. I don't think he got hardly anything to hit here at all....his power is just awesome, and I think he will progress as quickly as there becomes a position for him on the big league roster!

    Perhaps Mr. Thatcher should've closed last nite for the Padres! Not a bad first 22 innings of big league time for the former Brewer farmhand....congrats Joe on a really nice debut season!

    Steve Palazzolo, the 6' 10" pitcher the Brewers released at the END of spring training, adds injury to insult on the Brewers give away of good potential prospect types this year. After 50+ innings and a 2.14 ERA in the Can Am league for the Nashua Pride, Steve signs with the San Francisco Giants organization!     I'm sorry guys...but I'm not impressed. That's batting champion LeFave, Hawaii winter league championship MVP Thatcher, Stever Garrison and Will Inman, who need no special "titles" for a bunch of nothing that doesn't get us to the playoffs......It sucks having a good minor league system to supply the rest of the league! I have HATED all of these trades! Just one man's opinion from Charleston, WV!

    Bramhall was definitely nasty in his inning on the good side! 3 up 3 K's....everybody off balance....lot of speed change and movement...fun to watch on an otherwise uneventful night! GOOD LUCK in Columbus guys!

    Power results weren't all that great, but they were dressed in style. Here's LaPorta in his Ronald McDonald House jersey that was auctioned off tonite.     I know this is probably out of place, but did anyone see on the MILB page that WV only placed one player on the season end all-star squad? That was Taylor Green at 3B.....What does it take for our guys to get a little respect....I don't see how Andrew LeFave can be left off anything with his numbers! Here's hoping are guys put up big post-season performances and get some respect!

    Leave my low class A boys alone! We really like these guys in Charleston, WV...we used to have a hard time drawing 100,000 for a season before the new park, and I bet we cross 250,000 in attendance this year. I really like the SAL, and having the Brewers feeding my entertainment! Hell guys, I'll start pipin' live video feed to the board if you supply the gear!

    For what it's worth, they said LaPorta did damage to the scoreboard the night before with a jackety, jack jack so that blue streak of lights isn't so bad if you know where it came from!

    I apologize for the sideways pictures....I was just trying to keep from using up more than a screen heighth in my post. I have a real nice Nikon digital with a 70-300 zoom, so I can put up pics pretty much in whatever size is acceptable, but have been keeping them around the pixel sizes allowed for avatars thinking that to be ok.....any suggestions on what size pics are proper for posting would be appreciated. I was the guy who jinxed the No-No earlier in the year, so I like to participate but am leery of violating forum regulations!
