    If they want to do these alumni games and home run derbies, they really need to put in temporary fences to bring the fences in by at least 100 feet. Constant 200 foot fly outs and 1 or 2 home runs per round doesn't do anything for the fans.

    He's used because we're not likely to win in this situation.

    It means our no power put the ball in play style works against teams that don't have good pitching or defense but in the playoffs you're not really facing those kinds of teams and you need power to take advantage of the chances you do get.

    Our regular season offense is fine. Our offensive style in the playoffs is a huge problem and will continue to be until we can actually get guys who are built to succeed in the postseason.

    I've been screaming it from the mountain top. WIth off days and stuff you can piece together pitching fairly easily in the playoffs. If we don't add any meaningful offense the same thing is going to happen that's happened for almost the last decade.

    Three left handed hitters against a guy who's given up a .920 OPS to left handed hitters this year and we go ground out, ground out, strikeout.
