  1. I guess where I take issue with the classification of St. Louis as a 'small market' team is that their regional base extends well beyond the city limits...especially the historical range of their broadcast affiliate (KMOX), which covers most of the central US and is the source of a lot of their generational fan base. KMOX's fringe range doesn't make it to Columbia, MO, Davenport, IA or Bloomington, IN. And that's during the day. Their nighttime range barely makes it to Cape Girardeau, Champagne and Peoria. WTMJ basically has the same range as KMOX and we have the whole state of Wisconsin to draw from. Kansas City limits St. Louis to the West.
  2. I'll gladly take Ramirez back next year, just not at $16 million. If we give him the $4 million buyout and get him for $8-10 million, I'd be okay with that.
  3. 2 New York teams 2 Los Angeles teams 2 Chicago teams Dallas Houston Philadelphia Washington Miami Atlanta Toronto Boston San Francisco/Oakland Phoenix Detroit Seattle Twin Cities San Diego Tampa So they're the 23rd largest market.
  4. Yes, afaik every team stays at the Paper Valley.
  5. That guy just looks and sounds like an asshat.
  6. I say we only play with 3 infielders and 2 outfielders. Yeah!
  7. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/268130232.html I like the end where it has his 2012 numbers. Yeah, he tested positive in 2011, Buster. So any point you were trying to prove just went out the door. Unless you're implying that he was using in 2012 too but that would be really dumb on his part and he didn't fail a test in 2012, so it would be stupid to assume he was using PED's.
  8. The Rangers should trade him to the Yankees. Could you imagine Brian McCann catching him?
  9. The worst part about the Aiken fiasco is that the Astros had another high school pitcher ready to sign but when Aiken decided not to sign, it took all of that bonus money away forcing them to either sign the high school pitcher by going way over their draft allotment and forcing the Astros to give up their next two 1st round picks or let him go to college, even though he agreed to a deal. That's why the whole draft allotment sucks. You had a kid who was ready and willing to sign but because another kid didn't sign, they basically had to take the offer/agreement off the table.
  10. Cardinals 42-34 Brewers 38-39
  11. Or just lock it because it's about the Cardinals and I don't care about them and don't want a thread dedicated to them (whether it be about them scuffling or not) at the top of the board every damn day.
  12. That's the dumbest thing I've ever seen unless the rule is the play is dead when the interference happens, which seems stupid because just because there's interference doesn't prevent another out from being made.
  13. He's a 10th man. It's a decent signing for Houston, in our situation though, who cares?
  14. I heard 30,000-35,000 and they're hoping for a good walk-up crowd.
  15. If we win one and lose two for the rest of the season we'll have avoided long losing streaks and comfortably finish in 4th place.
  16. You guys ready?
