Jeff Hem @JeffHemPBP - 6m Jimmy Nelson w/ 3 scoreless so far, and @nashvillesounds lead Salt Lake 1-0. #Brewers GM Doug Melvin & spec. asst. Dan O'Brien in the house
The good news is US knows all they have to do is win tomorrow to advance. The bad news is Portugal will be desperate as well knowing they need at least a draw but more than likely a win because of goal differential. Like you said though, I'd much rather just take care of Portugal with two defenders out and a hobbled Ronaldo.
A tie isn't awful. USA advances with a win tomorrow. If they tie, then Germany and USA both know they only need a point to advance. Maybe they just don't take risks and play conservatively to draw the game.
agent39 recently posted (I'll look for it later) that there were only two options for the PTBNL, Green and Brantley. If the Brewers made the playoffs the Indians would get Brantley, if they didn't, they would get Green.
You're the one who sounds like Joe Morgan. If Fire Joe Morgan was still up and running I would imagine your "who got the loss" post would be somewhere on the site.
This isn't 'singlehandedly'. The offense failed to score. The defense gave up an unearned run. Kintzler sucked, but to say he 'single handedly' cost them the game is false. Thanks captain cliff notes. Who got the loss? Hahaha. To say one person lost this is ridiculous. Weeks' error cost them a run. The offense was non existant save for the Davis homer. The Prado hit was crushed. Other than that he got two weakly hit grounders for outs and a third weakly hit grounder that barely snuck through. A horrible night would be getting rocked all over the park. Hell, K-Rod was far worse last night than Kintzler was tonight and K-Rod even got a save!
