  1. Will Carroll was just on WSSP and said there's a "distinct possibility" that Hamilton is a Brewer next year.
  2. The pitch that was called strike two was very obviously a ball as well. 9th inning is going swimmingly as usual.
  3. Why cry? Unless I misudnerstood, Morosi indicated Greinke might re-sign. Couple that with a Ramirez trade to the Dodgers for Zach Lee or Eovaldi and I think that we would have the makings of an excellent rotation moving forward. I guess I don't want to re-sign and want to get value for him at the deadline.
  4. I'd take Lee or Eovaldi straight up. I don't care about Dee Gordon. He's terrible on offense and defense.
  5. The Brewers are 7-8 in games where they have blown a save this year (Loe and Axford both blew saves on 5/11 vs the Cubs) the Brewers ended up winning that game 8-7. Rodriguez Blown Save 4/17, Win Parra Blown Save 4/21, Win Loe and Axford Blown Save 5/11, Win Veras Blown Save 5/27, Loss Rodriguez Blown Save 6/7, Win Axford Blown Save 6/13, Loss Axford Blown Save 6/14, Loss Loe Blown Save 6/18, Win Axford Blown Save 6/18, Loss Loe Blown Save 6/23, Loss Rodriguez Blown Save 7/1, Win Rodriguez Blown Save 7/3, Win Axford Blown Save 7/4, Loss Loe Blown Save 7/14, Loss Axford Blown Save 7/16, Loss
  6. Major league pitching may mean they're getting ready to trade Greinke. I don't like having players on the block for set positions though. Take the best deal.
  7. "Only" 19 walks in 43 innings is almost 4 per 9, which isn't very good. Especially for a 29 year old in AAA.
  8. Fixed that for you.
  9. This to me just seems like trying to trash the guys we gave up in order to make the trade look better.
  10. I, just, wow.
  11. I think they should have started selling already. These next 6 games don't mean a ton to me. Even if they somehow sweep the next two series, they're still going to be behind two teams (at least) in the division just to give some perspective on how far behind they are.
  12. But then in one game you're going Justin Verlander vs Josh Beckett. The Red Sox may be a better overall team but in a one game playoff, who has the advantage? I don't mind a second wild card team but a one game playoff to determine who wins it is stupid.
  13. Technically no. Realistically yes.
  14. Lucroy is coming back from a broken hand. He's not going to be catching 4 out of every 5 days, especially to start.
  15. It was completely serious and yes you can.
  16. Three games into the 9 game stretch that would determine if we are "in the race" and the Brewers haven't gained any ground on the division lead.
  17. Keep Maldonado. DFA Izturis.
  18. http://www.brewcrewball.com/2008/7/20/575166/sabathia-ptbnl-to-be-chose Second comment says internet rumors were Cain and Lucroy were on the list as well.
  19. Exactly. Those guys (especially LaPorta) had value at the time. Knowing what we know now they don't but at that time they did. They could have used those pieces to get a longer term solution than a half season rental.
  20. The Brewers traded a cleanup hitter for Greinke and let a #5 hitter walk for nothing. Lorenzo Cain is batting cleanup today for the Royals and Betancourt is batting 5th.
  21. 6 shutout innings and his last pitch was 91. Impressive.
