    Randall Delgado could be in the deal. 22 year old currently in the Braves rotation and doing okay. 3rd best prospect for the Braves in 2012, #46 overall by BA. Fantastic deal for the Cubs if it's true that Delgado is in it.

    We didn't have a second wave because they were traded for Marcum and Greinke.

    The rotation has a 3.19 ERA, a 3.35 FIP and a 3.61 xFIP. Seems they're pitching right around where they should be.

    I wouldn't mind the Brewers using their 2nd round pick in a Greinke package to up the prospect packages offered to us.

    That trade was awful for the Twins from the beginning. If those are the kinds of offers we get for Maldonado, I'd rather just keep him.

    Unless we offer them Izturis as well. Scioscia loves him some crappy hitters (see Jeff Mathis over Mike Napoli).

    I would imagine that if he hasn't accepted the offer by now, it's unlikely he will.

    Marcum is hurt. You can't just take a guy off the DL when he's still hurt and have him pitch. He would suck and even if he managed to somehow not suck, he would fail his physical and the trade wouldn't happen.

    Agreed. Not only that but with Escobar the Royals got two incredibly cheap years, Odorizzi, Cain and Jeffress with three and three more years of control after that. Lawrie also has three incredibly cheap years and three years of control after that. That's not even counting extensions players may sign (like Escobar) to control them through their primes.

    Don't really understand this deal for the Jays. Happ is going to get destroyed in the AL East.

    Scutaro is a rental and isn't hitting that great and why not just use Rogers if we're trading him for a bullpen arm? Farris has no value.

    This new CBA has basically boned small market teams. Draft budget based on number of picks and where they are eliminates the oppurtunity for small market teams to collect great talent later in the draft. Only get one pick if you let a free agent walk. Teams likely aren't going to be willing to offer as much for rentals because they can't get draft pick compensation. Well done, MLB. You suck.

    That makes sense. It seems everytime we face Arroyo it's something like 7 shutout innings or 7 innings, 1 run or we crush him for like 6 runs in 3 innings or something like that.

    They've already made it to the World Series two years in a row without Greinke. Why would any team trade at the very worst the second best prospect in baseball for possibly half a year of one pitcher that they wouldn't get compensation for when they're already one of the best teams in the league?

    They asked if this hurt Greinke's trade value and he basically said absolutely not. Teams already know what they need to know about Greinke and since he's not hurt, it's not a hit to his trade value.

    Assuming we get that pick, yes. I agree it would also be nice to use that as a sweetener to get a team to up the price on a Greinke trade.

    Bill Michaels though he wasn't hosting. IIRC it was around 20-30 minutes into the show, so it was early.
