  1. I want to know. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  2. How much longer can Bush stay in the rotation? 86 up in the zone is just gross.
  3. But we would be selling at the deadline, which would mean wins and losses are secondary to player development, so it's not really an issue if we get Hart's production or not.
  4. That won't suffice, since it won't clear a spot on the 40-man. It could be coupled with a DFAing of Luis Cruz or Adam Heether, but getting rid of Suppan seems more straightforward. I realized that right after I clicked submit and then I got an error message and couldn't edit the post. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif According to fangraphs, he's mainly a fastball guy in the upper 80s with a ton of movement (based on his GB%). Secondary pitches are curveball, slider and change, throwing the curve the most.
  5. Since Estrada has pitched three days in a row and hasn't been very good since his debut in Cincinnati, I have to imagine he's going down.
  6. I'm pretty much drained watching this team. Really the only thing I look forward to watching these games is the young pitchers. Gallardo, Parra, Villanueva, Axford and Braddock. None of the other pitchers excite me very much, maybe Narveson. I'll be really excited to watch Capuano pitch, even if he doesn't do well just because of him beating the odds and making it back to the majors. I still enjoy watching Fielder and Braun hit. I'm interested in watching Lucroy and Kottaras the rest of the year as well as Escobar. Gomez is still just very meh to me. For some reason even going back to when he was with the Twins, I don't like him. Something about him just doesn't sit well with me. Maybe it's the showboating bat flip crap that he does even after doubles. After that, I'm just hoping that Mark A. and DM are smart enough to sell at the deadline. Fielder should be traded, signing him is a pipe dream and a bad investment even if it was possible. Hart should be gone as well. Other than that, I'm basically going to follow the minors. They're more exciting than the major league team, even though I rarely see them play in person. I think the rest of the year should be all about the development of the young players. If that means some veterans are pushed out of the picture. So be it.
  7. How is this happening with all the pitching depth Melvin assembled?!?
  8. Wow this umpire is horrible. Uggla missed home plate and he calls him safe. Looking right at it and still can't make the right call. Completely blind.
  9. These white hats are so much better than the red ones they wore last year. Especially since we wore the red hats while we were playing the Cardinals.
  10. Even if Estrada is worse than Suppan I'd rather keep him and see what we have. Can he be a #4 or #5 starter in the future? Can he be a cheap bullpen arm in the future? Let's find out now, while we're not good. No use keeping Suppan since he's terrible and won't be here past this year.
  11. It wasn't a myth. McGehee was hitting about as well as any of us would (.376 OPS at the time of Gamel's callup.) After Gamel got called up he pinch hit 19 times, started at 3B 22 times, didn't play 8 times and started at DH 5 times. So half the time he either didn't play or got one at bat and no reps in the field. McGehee was also playing 2B at one point and doing a fairly decent job at it. Hall sucked and Counsell was decent, but should've been a bench player and Gamel still couldn't make the starting lineup. He was absolutely jerked around. And since McGehee could play 2B it made the Lopez trade completely unnecessary. Gamel starts at 3B McGehee starts at 2B Counsell and Hall fill in at both spots one or two times a week. It took them a little over two months to finally send Gamel back to the minors instead of sitting him on the bench most of the time.
  12. There are a few ways you could convince a team that the player they're getting is for real and get a good return for him. I can think of three for Hart. Edmonds could replace Hart. Not really MLB ready since he's a 40 year old veteran, but you could sell it as Edmonds takes over for the rest of the year and Cain can replace Edmonds in 2011. We're going into rebuilding mode and since Hart is getting close to free agency and getting more expensive, he probably won't be around for our next winning team. You could also go with we need to open up money for re-signing Fielder and we need to cut some money. We have a solid replacement in Edmonds this year and we have Cain for 2011. Even if those are lies, there's no rules that say you have to say the truth when discussing trades and what your future plans are as a team. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Obviously that would be more difficult with McGehee as the only one that would work is we have a replacement in Gamel since he's still cheap and years away from free agency. Though that would make him that much more appealing. And for the record, I would absolutely do that deal proposed in the opening post. Not sure the Twins give up both Gibson and Ramos, but it's not like they're getting crap in return. I don't know. Seems pretty close to me.
  13. Umm, no. How many players even post an OPS north of .820? We have almost no outfielders in the minors. The first outfielder we called up is Adam freakin' Stern.
  14. Things have come full circle. Overpay one soft tosser and have him be replaced from the bullpen by another soft tosser that you overpaid and can't wait to get rid of.
  15. Braddock could go a couple innings, Villanueva and then Axford.
  16. Ball 2 was closer to a strike than strike 2. Though both were balls. Suppan and Macha fail. I don't think they're saying "Soup." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
