No they don't. Even if you have to take a step back, just go with Gallardo, Wolf, Davis, Parra and Narveson. No need to continue spending on starters, the depth would come from some of the guys in the minors, Butler, Rivas, Rogers etc.
Joe West is so inconsistent with the strike zone. Check these out. One from the 4th inning with Beckett against Gardner, the other is Robertson against Drew. http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z217/trwi7/Strike-1.jpg?t=1270435161 http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z217/trwi7/Strike1-1.jpg?t=1270435361 How about some consistency here?
Just basing it on RPI this year (because I have no idea how they would determine which other schools would get in), some of these matchups are awesome. Virginia Commonwealth vs Ohio Marshall vs UC-Santa Barbara Tulsa vs South Carolina I'd definitely watch those games.
According to gameday the wind is blowing at 10 mph. If we have to make excuses on HR's by our pitchers when the wind is blowing at 10 mph, we should probably just forfeit the season.
