  1. Not really, no.
  2. Because over 20 years, when you spend $1-2 million a year on 14th and 15th men who don't play, it ends up being a lot of money? That's $20-40 million wasted on scrubs who don't play. That $20-40 million could go towards a new arena. That $20-40 million could go towards buying picks and using those picks to get players who actually play. That's the problem.
  3. The salary for the minimum is pennies. And those pennies start to add up. With Redd out, Gadzuric on the roster, and the big guy they got in the 76ers deal, they are effectively at 11 guys. How many players do you think play a night? Maybe 10 max, all if it's a blowout. There's no need for 15 guys since they're not going to play. Boston has 14, Atlanta has 13, Dallas has 13, Denver has 13, Los Angeles has 13, Orlando has 13, Phoenix has 13 and Utah has 13. How are all of these contending teams managing without a full roster?!?! Couldn't they just pick someone up if that happens? Yes. It really makes no sense to pick up a guy unless you have the intention of playing him. I don't know if they plan on playing whoever they sign, but it's a waste of money if they don't play him.
  4. Why? It's not like they can play everyone on their roster. I'd rather they not waste money on 14th and 15th men.
  5. John Halama released. EDIT: Discussion here, if there's anything to possibly say about it.
  6. Between the sunglasses and the face and being a catcher, he reminds me of Jack Parkman.
  7. I haven't seen anything on that yet. Usually you get a message on the TV and I haven't seen one yet.
  8. Anyone see how Sheets did today? 0 innings, 8 hits, 10 runs (9 earned), 1 walk.
  9. Nice start by Yo. Got Brantley looking, Valbuena to foul out and LaPorta to fly out to shallow right.
  10. Believe it or not I'm walking on air. Never seen 24 or Lost. Never been to Spain, but I kinda like the music. Never been to Summerfest.
  11. According to Macha, only two of the homers Suppan gave up were legit. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif The excuses for him start already.
  12. I don't see how that's a good draw for Wisconsin. I think Kentucky would stomp Wisconsin.
  13. Apparently it's an NBA decision to make sure at least one city has a TV broadcast.
  14. The game actually was working on there for a little bit. Had the Bradley Center Video feed. Now it's not working. This will be the last game in NBA history that will not be broadcast by either team according to Paschke. Edit: Feed is working again.
  15. First let me say I really hope Kottaras makes the team over Treanor. I think an all lefty bench is a problem for this team since none of them hit lefties well (Gerut had a good year against them in 2008, but that was his only good year against them). I don't think it would be a problem if you had one or two lefty hitters who could hit lefty pitching, but we don't.
  16. Watching the game, this Clark guy for UAA is a goon.
  17. Badgers beat UAA in game one, 4-1. Scored three goals in the 2nd including a shorty. Didn't give up a goal until there was less than a minute left in the game.
  18. They actually just had a game added on ESPN a couple days ago. Bucks @ Clippers on March 17th. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. It's great beating the Cubs. Even in spring training.
  20. If anyone has ESPNU and wants to watch the replay of the Marquette game, it's airing again at midnight.
  21. It does to me. Parra still has four years of control and is a hard throwing lefty with the highest ceiling. Narveson will have five years of control and is another lefty with good stuff. Suppan is gone after this year and Bush likely is too.
  22. Rivas falls behind top prospect Michael Taylor 3-0, but comes back and strikes him out looking.
  23. Not only is that a horrible idea, but the top 40 prospects in any given draft is subjective. Who is going to determine the top 40 players in the draft? All the scouting directors?
  24. That doesn't look that bad. A lot better than I expected it to look. I figured you slammed most of the nail in the door. I said you would probably lose your nail, I'm not sure sure anymore. If you say the black is moving up your nail it probably will fall off. As to how it falls off, the new nail is growing in, it just lifts off the old nail. It doesn't hurt, there's not much you have to do with it if it does fall off. If part of the nail lifts up and doesn't come completely off right away, you'll have to trim it to keep it from catching on something, that's about it though.
