  1. It folded already. They're making a new league that will be the top arena league that the Iron will be in.
  2. We're still trying to win games! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  3. I really doubt it. They have Adam Moore as a C of the future, so there's no need for Salome, Gamel is nice, they'd definitely want Escobar and Jeffress has no value.
  4. I'm not a huge fan of him. I'm more on the Bedard, Sheets, Smoltz, Hudson bandwagon. Guys you know are really good but have had arm problems/down years. High risk/high reward, but if they pan out, you have a #2 starter at the very least. I view Myers more as a #4 starter.
  5. With some of our prospects ascending through the system, there's no need to pay $5.5M for Looper or any other pitcher as "depth." With Butler, Rivas, Rogers and hopefully Narveson, maybe Capuano as well being in AA or higher at the start of next season, if we need another starter I'd much rather use one of our young guys.
  6. Well the Braves have a $12M option on him. I have no idea if they intend to pick it up, but I can't see him getting more than 2 years at $10M per year if he hits free agency. And I'd much rather spend Looper's $5.5M plus some of our other money on Hudson.
  7. Yes it is. His ERA last year was a full run lower and he couldn't even get $5M. I'd much rather go after a Smoltz, Bedard, Sheets or Penny with Looper's money plus some of the other money we have to spend. It's obviously riskier, but it's better than keeping the status quo.
  8. It was Certified Angus Beef Tenderloins made at the stadium with Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly.
  9. Prince imitating Kendall running is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
  10. 2B Felipe Lopez RF Corey Hart LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder 3B Casey McGehee CF Mike Cameron SS Alcides Escobar C Jason Kendall RHP Jeff Suppan Our gritty and intangible factor is through the roof tonight with Suppan pitching and Kendall catching.
  11. But this is like the fifth time Haudricourt has mentioned that it's likely that Melvin will pick up the option and McCalvy has mentioned it a couple times as well. They have to be getting that from someone.
  12. I wouldn't put money in their owner's pockets.
  13. If this happens and it sounds like it has a better chance of happening than not, then I would look for another GM. Really? You think spending $5.5M on a below replacement level starter is a good investment? You can't find a better value for that $5.5M than Looper?
  14. Cards losing 2-0 in the 8th, but if the Brewers hang on to win and the Cardinals come back then they clinched the division.
  15. Didn't realize that Gerut had that good of an arm. That was a very nice throw.
  16. Have you ever even read the argument for trading McGehee? The reason people want to trade him is because he has never produced like this before and are skeptical that he will do it again so they view it as a sell high oppurtunity. It's not just trading him for the sake of trading him.
  17. I never heard that. Now I understand why Melvin wants to keep them. They're both tools.
  18. Nice, Doug. Calling people that disagree with you who actually go to the games to watch the crappy product you put on the field stupid. Tool.
  19. Fine, what about his xFIP and tRA which have gotten worse each year he's been with the Brewers? Or are those stats not good enough either?
  20. You really think they'll consider that? I agree with you, but I don't think they'll actually consider it.
  21. Is the strike zone as bad as it looks on gameday? Bush had two pitches in the strike zone to Theriot, both were called balls and another right in the middle of the strike zone against Fukudome also called a ball. And that's just the last two hitters.
  22. I mentioned it earlier in this thread, but Zach Britton is the guy from the O's I would target.
  23. I don't really care about the record at this point. I'm not going to hope for losses, but helping our draft position wouldn't be bad. Don't care about the Rockies clinching either. I actually like the Rockies and will be rooting for them in the playoffs. Axford, Gamel, Escobar, Rivera and Butler get some playing time. I'd like to see Butler get at least one start although it sounds like Parra will be back and he'll take Gallardo's rotation spot and Narveson will take Parra's.
