  1. Apparently within two feet of the base = out. McGehee looked safe too.
  2. Harden isn't throwing very hard according to gameday. Wind is blowing in hard so Looper should only give up around 3 HR's tonight.
  3. It's still extremely unlikely the Cubs make the playoffs. Coolstandings gives them a 2.8% shot and Baseball Prospectus gives them a 2.5% shot. At best they're 7.5 games behind the Cardinals and 4.5 behind the Rockies after tonight with three more teams to jump.
  4. He pitched 180+ innings in 2007 and never had that problem and I don't think it's from only pitching 30 innings last year since he had problems with walks starting in May. April - 2.34 BB/9 May - 4.45 BB/9 June - 5.51 BB/9 July - 4.82 BB/9 August - 4.98 BB/9 September - 6.35 BB/9
  5. Yeah, he struggled with control, but he showed very good stuff. And to be fair to him, he should've gotten out of that inning with only one walk and no hits. Catalanotto has terrible range as a corner outfielder, why you would put him at 2B is baffling. That popup hung up for about 10 seconds and nobody caught it. A 2B with average range gets that ball easily.
  6. Was listening to WTMJ right before Brewers 360 and they made it sound like Melvin wanted to see some young guys but Macha hasn't done it. Melvin will be on tomorrow so maybe they'll ask about it.
  7. Hart has been a big fail tonight with his caught stealing, a throw that could be bested by a three year old and strikeout with runners on 1st and 3rd ahead of the count 3-1 while swinging at ball 4 on the 3-1 pitch.
  8. Please, allow me. http://wrigleyville23.com/zeject.jpg http://wrigleyville23.com/zeject2.jpg http://delusionalcubsfan.com/wp-admin/images/carlos-zambrano/carlos-zambrano-ejected-may-2009.jpg
  9. It wouldn't have been four years max with Sessions. There's always the possibility of trading him and I believe he has an opt out clause after the third year (although I'm not completely sure on that.) There was no reason to think that he couldn't be traded and it would be pretty easy to get under the luxury tax.
  10. Would anyone trade Hardy to Baltimore for Zach Britton? Would Baltimore do that trade? He's a great target for us. Lefty, good stuff, good strikeout rate and huge ground ball numbers. The only con is he wouldn't be ready next year as he's only played in A+ this year.
  11. They have an off day on my birthday. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Surprised we get the Mariners at home and the Angels on the road. I don't think we've ever gone to Seattle for interleague play and I don't think Los Angeles has ever come here. A little disappointed that the A's aren't on our interleague schedule. I don't remember the last time we played them.
  12. Okay, I decided to track that since I saw the Contra Costa Times banner on the top. I found the blog where it came from on the Contra Costa Times website, so it seems to be legit. I certainly hope it is. It would give us all a reason to tune in.
  13. I'd rather have Hagadone and Masterson. Delcarmen and Anderson aren't appealing to me at all.
  14. Interesting. Where did you hear/see this? Are you at the team hotel? The only move that would need to happen is for him to be placed on the 40 man roster and I believe we only have 39 on the 40 man now so we wouldn't need to move someone off if we didn't want to. And it makes sense to just add him now with an open spot since he's going to need to be added in the offseason anyways. As far as him starting. I'd prefer to see him start over Narveson if Parra can't pitch on Friday.
  15. They couldn't. Hagadone and Masterson were traded to Cleveland.
  16. Anderson? As in Lars Anderson? He would be terrible next year.
  17. So why not just keep Sessions then since he's the best player out of Delfino and Ukic and will be making less than those two combined next year?
  18. And U-Verse doesn't have an alternate channel so I have to wait for tennis to be over. Great planning morons.
  19. I'm against signing known mediocre talent (Warrick and Delfino, I would include Ukic, but he has a while to go before he could be considered mediocre.) My plan the whole time has been clear out as many big contracts as you can and play young players. If you suck, great. Add another high pick and young player to your core. If you win, even better. That means you already have a good, young team with room for future growth beyond that.
  20. Actually, I guess they could but it would've had to have been done between the draft and July 1st. I think it's absolutely inexcusable to get nothing for him. Just a ridiculous move and such a reasonable contract as well.
  21. Yeah, #1 Web Gem on BBTN. The host (don't remember who it was) wondered how his arm was still in its socket after that throw. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. Well the players listed would be either redundant with Fielder (Overbay), still hurt (McGowan) and probably a bullpen guy depending on what happens with Halladay and if Marcum can come back.
  23. I don't think Macha realizes that Gamel is an actual player and not Don Money's son.
